I'm against prohibition period. Some assholes who lied and cheated their way in to power have no business telling me what mind altering chemicals I can use. The people who support prohibition don't support freedom. Real crimes (that means there's a victim)multiply in droves as a direct result of prohibition. Not because of drugs. Were driving further away from our self professed free country. China don't sound so bad anymore. They got a population 5 times ours and half a million less prisoners then we do. I don't see why these laws are still intact and are still ruining peoples lives when the propaganda has been dis-proven for as long as it has been. F the gov in the A.

While I agree that pot isn't the worst drug out there, and I'd likely have no problem with its legalization, I can't agree with the idea that people should be free to use any 'mind-altering chemical' they please. People die every day over the distribution, transport, and sale of illegal drugs. And think of how many people are assaulted, robbed, or worse by someone who is under the influence of a 'mind-altering chemical?" Have you ever encountered someone who is out of their mind on PCP? That's a scary sight! Or how about somene hallucinating on acid? Again, that can be a bad situation. So no, I don't agree to that extent. Most of the time people who smoke pot are too stoned to commit any real crimes.

Majority of people that smoke marijuana can not hold a job due to complete laziness. In return they are just as likely to commit crimes like most heroin and crack smokers.

Well lets see it deteriates ones brain stem an leads to stronger addiction to other drugs. Have been married to a avid pot smoker for 17 years an he has actually put it before his kids, the roof over his head an will do anything to get it on a daily basis, it a big to do with why i left him after 17 years

You realize most street level gangsters would be out of business in a week if prohibition was repealed. That's probably 70 percent of the violence that comes with drugs. If we lived in an open society based off of truth instead of fear and lies I doubt there would be as many hardcore drug users. Once somebody realizes almost everything they've learned about certain drugs to be a lie there more inclined to give other things a try. Scientist keep discovering the benefits of cannabis in different forms on the regular. It's been used to treat and cure serious illnesses all the while being illegal. This is just another way the government is slowing down what could be huge breakthroughs in medical science all the while screwing millions of people over out of money and freedom.

I don't think people are lazy solely because they smoke pot in the same way I don't believe a man is grumpy simply because he's old. Chances are he was grumpy long before he was old. Plenty of people hold jobs and light up every night they get off. Not that holding a job makes you a good person anyway. I'd rather be friends with somebody that tries to do right and can't hold a job opposed to the guy that shows up early everyday but can't wait to get off so he can decapitate small animals. The dead end slacker was the face given to the pot smoker by the old masters of propaganda. Not only does it suggest that you shouldn't smoke pot but also conveniently suggest that the right thing to do is pay taxes. The truth is your money would be better spent going to homeless drunks.

To make prohibition make sense you have to assess it the same way you would with any other situation. You weigh out the pros and cons. Regardless if you still buy the hype you have to see that it does more harm than good.

it is not good for our health. it destroys cells in our brains so that we don't think good thoughts. it makes us not able to keep ourselves up. I know from my son and my grand-daughter the stuff has not helped in their lives; in fact, they are not just staying with marjuana they are into other drugs so I thing the theoray is right; it does lead to other drugs.

I do not oppose it for people that are suffering with a terminal disease. If it's going to make them feel better after everything they're going through, so be it.
Anything can be bad, if a person doesn't do it in moderation. I personally do not smoke pot. But I would rather be around someone who is high, than a mean alcoholic. Also, I do not hear of potheads stealing / robbing people for it?
People that do choose to smoke it and kill their brain cells, that's their choice. I'm pretty sure they know it's not good for them.

If my daughter had to give in to peer pressure, I sure as hell would rather her smoke pot then drink, to many girls get date raped, by boys they know, with while their drunk or even slipped a drug. It only takes to sips of a drink that has had a pill dropped in it to knock a teen out for a couple hours. Girls that are high instead of drunk wont make those stupid choices because they don't know what the hell their doing. Pot can be a relaxing drug, the laziness is part of the persons personality and not a side effect everyone gets. i VOTE YES
