It's safer than alcohol. You cannot die from over consumption. People fear what they don't understand. Simple as that.

as long as an adult is in the privacy of their home and not driving, what is the big deal. Booze causes more trouble than pot anyway

It wastes our tax dollars fighting it, when the money could be used to fight more dangerous drugs.

Safer than alcohol and just think about the tax revenue!

It is a plant, it is safer than alcohol, in my home? Why not.

If marijuana was legal hopefully there would be less drug wars.

Yeah. But not because of THC. Eating that much of anything, much less plant material, will kill you since it will expand in your stomach.

To smoke enough weed to kill you, you'd need at least a 1/2 ton of weed, or about 1,000 lbs. You'd probably pass out well before you got to that point or suffocate from lack of oxygen. I doubt it's possible to smoke enough weed to overdose even though it's theoretically possible. Just like how it's theoretically possible to travel back in time.

It's a drug. I know plenty of kids around here who smoke it all the time and you can barely understand them when they talk. It's quite clear that it doesn't exactly do much good for the brain when talking to these individuals with their stained t-shirts and greasy unwashed hair.

What kind of people do you talk to? Weed does not impair your speech, they obviously were on something else and you're dumb to think that they were on weed.

HIV is one of them.
Try ingesting that.

Of all the examples you could have used to depict a deadly ingestible, you skipped over rhubarb leaves, deathcap mushrooms, fugu, wild potatos, rhotodendrons, yew berries, and many others to instead pick a disease that people can't even ingest. You could have picked anthrax and still been at least close to an analogy, but you had to pull out the biologist's godwin and pick HIV. I mean, that's not even an apples to oranges comparison; it's more like apples to shoehorns it's so far off.

And people say weed smokers are dumb. Sometimes I wonder about everyone else.
