Freedom of responsible adults should be respected. Just because someone supports legalization, does not mean that those people are "dope smoking lowlifes" or anything similar. People can hold jobs, have great relationships, and have wonderful children while responsibly using MJ. It's just like alcohol, some will abuse and base their life around it, while some will carry on with their life using it responsibly and enjoyably.

Not just saving taxpayers money, but it would actually generate more tax funding than we can imagine. Unlike all other taxes, people would be more than willing to pay this tax.

Most of the people who supports legalized pot doesn't realize something. That doesn't mean anyone can grow and smoke it. It means that doctors can prescribe it for medical use and that people who ate legally able to have it cab use it without reprecussions.

@Whispering Wind- "Legalization" means that it would taken off of the the controlled substances list. Decriminalization of medical Cannabis (means rescheduled on controlled substances list, but still on the list) is the reference you are talking about, but legalization is exactly that...makes it legal. People would still be subject to public intoxication, DUIs, etc...just like alcohol. Legalization doesnt mean you can do whatever you want with it, it just means that you can legally possess it.

Why are people pushing for legalization for smoking marijuana and on the other hand wanting to outlaw smoking tobacco.

It's no more harmful than booze and it would help clean out the judicial system.

Perhaps you should open YOUR eyes, genius. He said "died from marijuana", not "being high on drugs". Just as people have died "being drunk on alcohol", except there IS a toxic dose for alcohol, but there is not one for marijuana.

yes God created it but God also created the forbidden fruit. Not everything God makes he wants you to eat/smoke.
