Marijuana Debate - Lowville, NY

marijuana is much less harmful than cigarettes or alcohol so if cigs and alcohol are legal so should weed be :)

Look at what NY is doing in stead. We are taking cigarettes, something even more harmful and addictive, millions of people are already addicted to them and NY is taxing the shit out of it. If they are going to do that they may as well do the same thing to weed. It kind of seems to me like NY is treating cigarettes like California is treating marijuana. Talking from experience I can tell you cigarettes are way more addictive than weed, I used to smoke marijuana, one day I decided I didn't want to anymore, so I just quit, cold turkey, I was grouchy for a day or 2 and that was it. Then one day I decided I wanted to quit smoking cigarettes, well guess what I can't, every break I need to have one, when I drive I need one, it's sick, people are addicted, Patterson knows it, so hes gonna tax the hell out of it and what for??? To pay for more prisons and jails to hold marijuana smokers??? Do you get what I'm saying? And why do you care why I care if its legal? I just think everyone would be a bit happier, and we would stop filling up our prisons and jails with non-violent offenders. Put some thought into something for once. If you look at those poll results from all across the country, even here the answer is pretty clear. LEGALIZE!

people whine about not having any money, but they will always find enough to buy an extra bag to smoke

I would much prefer to see people chill out on marijuana than alcohol. Alcohol can turn people violent but I've never seen that happen with marijuana. It just mellows people out.

You could tax it and make millions, also you could free up jail space for bad criminals, that do harsh crimes against others.

Ill have you know I support it actually... but had you come on and properly addressed the issue like you just did instead of sounding like an illiterate teen trying to cause problems, I would have done nothing but agreed! My boyfriend also quit cold turkey... little upset stomach and still wants to do it now and again, but he also quit easily!
