Yes, the money from sale of legalized marijuana could help finance the budget. Plus it would take the money from thugs and put it into helping our economy. Save cost of drug busts and prison or jail while also putting money into the system to fight or promote more important issues such as murder, theft, rape and other one on one crimes. Who knows, there may be enough money to help fight corporate crimes.

Less Harmful to the body than alcohol or acetaminophen. It should be legitimated for both it's medicinal & recreational purposes.

We waste too much tax money on throwing people with weed charges in jail when something that is legal like alcohol is worse! Marijuana doesnt make anyone violent or suicidal and it has alot of medicinal uses.

There are so many reason to legalize this failure of a Drugs War that I am dumbfounded that Americans are still talking about this issue like it was still the 20th century.

Thanks to the misuse of science, marijuana is becoming hybridized and some strains have become as potent, as more severe man made drugs. If legalized it would be nearly impossible to control its potency and distribution.

How much money is made off the sale and consumption of alcohol?

How much does the alcohol industry spend to "lobby" (buy) politicians?

If "weed" was legalized would there be as many people "getting drunk"?

For instance: Do you think John McCain would work against his own interests? His wife is chairwoman of Hensley, the nation's third-largest distributor of Anheuser-Busch. She supplies Las Vegas. Which has earned them close to $53.4 million.

Weed funds the never ending revolving door of justice. They need the fines, etc... to keep the bureaucratic machine running.

They created a blind monster that does nothing but bother/incarcerate citizens simply to fund doing it again and again. It gives them work... jobs.

...and you're afraid the criminals might fall asleep or make an ice cream sundae or giggle and laugh instead of robbing and mugging?

"If legalized it would be nearly impossible to control its potency and distribution." Like alcohol? Or prescription drugs?

How about this:
"If legalized it would be possible to control its potency and distribution." Like alcohol and prescription drugs.
