We do not need our children getting this
stuff leagaly. They get it now easy enough.
This would only make it cheaper and more available for them. I say lock them up and
save their life.

A natural herb , given by God for man to use in a variety of healthful ways. War on Marijuana is stupid, wasteful, sad and not to mention expensive. Free up our courts to deal with real crime. Legalize Marijuana NOW!

Not just NO. But HELL NO. Only the dope smokers would vote to make it legal. So they can openly buy and smoke it. Like
people in California. Its nuts to make it
legal.I have seen to many young lives destroyed from dope and alachol addiction.
Many are in the grave yard.

Make marijuana legal and criminalize alcohol.
Seriously, pot would do a lot less harm to the body and to society in general than alcohol.

I see more positive aspects in pot than in alcohol or tobacco... Why is there selective enforcement to outlaw marijuana when more harmful substances are still legal? Go figure!(besides pot could be taxed!)

Marijuana should be legal. I'm happy to see the people who have commented on the horrors of marijuana showed their ignorance. Not only with their comments but also their poor English skills.

It will give more revenue to all the states. The people who use it are not going to stop for the most part and it is fueling drug lords pockets instead of states. Recently the president of Mexico even suggested that it be legalized to help stop all the violence in Mexico. Look at how many states are already decriminalizing it and making it legal for medical use. Its time to regulate it.

And how many lives ruined and people killed by alcohol?
A minute portion of the population get aggresive when smoking pot, as opposed to a large percentage of drunks who get violent.
Pot tends to make people mellow and congenial, while alcohol surpresses inhibitions to allow wild behavior.
The dealers will most certainly not "love you." Legalizing marijuana will
take it out of the hands of the dealers! Duh!

(The word is "naive." If you are going to try to insult someone, you
could at least spell it correctly. Oh, and the other word is "forum.")

You have no idea how widespread the use of pot is. It's not kids and the poor (although if one is poor, I don't see how they can afford it) who
are fueling the pot industry. The majority is bought by the middle and
upper class. Doctors, lawyers, business owners..you know, the tax-paying up-right citizens.

Not to mention that if pot were legalized, police could devote more time
to fighting real crime.

Absolutely needs to be legalized. If you don't want to smoke it, then you don't have to. The same goes for smoking cigarettes and drinking alcohol. There is no reason to be infringing upon mine and many others' right to own and smoke marijuana.

I've worked 40 yrs in emergency medicine;33 yrs as ER RN. In All those years have only had 3 patients who were strictly marijuana related cases. Alcohol and narcotic related cases often exceed 75% of the ER patient population particularly on weekend nights. There is no problem that alcohol or drugs can't make worse. Marijuana is the least of these. Let's gain some perspective here. I support legalization. Outlaw booze.

First & Foremost ( Ted )~ You are poorly misguided and blinded by the truth & encourage you to stop your postings since you have no absolute idea as to what your talking about.
For all your information , in national studies that have been conducted since 2005 , more then half our nation claims to smoke ( Cannabis ) A recent study conducted in 2010 indicated that more then 44% of our nations populous claim to smoke ( Cannabis ) so indirectly who are you referring to as " Pot Smokers " ? Their are over 300 million residents in this country , so literally half of our populous claim to smoke ( Cannabis )
Is it any different then alcohol consumption or smoking cigarrettes ? More then 72% of our nation has residents on some form of medication , prescriptionals or some other treatments which are just as harmful if not worse then the smoking of Cannabis. Some prescriptional meds have serious side effects and factors proving far worse then the damages of ( Cannbis ) which in fact have medicinal values all the same. Is that any different ? I have seen many lives wasted on prescriptional drugs , even pain-killers and anti-depressants and you refer to ( Cannabis ) as if it were the devil. How about all the young teens that are dropping dead from metabolic enhancers ? Or from Energy Drinks ? Kids drinking them like water and end up having strokes or heart-attacks. How about all the fast-food junkies which literally gorge their bodies and weigh excesses to 300 to 400 lbs. or more and destroying their bodies ? Is it any different ?
You can't mislabel or misjudge one thing. A little bit of everything is bad for you and you just can't sit their and pin-point that ( Cannabis ) is the worst thing on earth. Their are for more lethal things then that and most of which are prescriptional meds that cause more deaths in our nation then ( Cannabis )
I don't smoke ( Cannabis ) but I am neither for or against it , and ultimately , the legalization of it would neither improve or disprove anything. Just think of how much money is put into cigarettes and alcohol consumption. As a matter of fact , those are the top 2 items are nation makes the most money out of. Legalizing ( Cannabis ) would ultimately prove a major flow of income for this nation. One idea that could get our sorry a$$es out of debt.
It's all about regulation. Literally 80% of foreign countries do not have a law against ( Cannabis ) especially most of Europe and especially ( HOLLAND ) where most drug usage is perfectly legal and strictly regulated. If our law system wasn't so screwed up and they could regulate this and set down some strict guidelines , i'm sure this wouldn't go to such extremes. Maybe instead of fining people or locking them up , they should set down stricter laws like the middle east does. Some countries even issue the death sentence for the misusage of drugs if they are not controlled or taken responsibly.
I also favor better regulating for cigarettes and alcohol , some of the regulations and control on these products are haneous and they in fact need better laws instituted for controlling this since you can damn near have toddlers getting their hands on it. But is it any different then their folks feeding them greezy crap , prescriptional meds , or other unhealthy garbage ? Look how many grow up to smoke or become boozers ?
Don't blame ( Marijuana/Cannabis ) as the problem. The problem is mankind. If people want to do it , they should have the god-given right. Those who are health-freaks , know to stay away from it. Don't judge people for what they want to be. They want to do it , let them. They don't want to do it they have the same right. If you want to get biblical and practical , god put the green stuff on this earth for a purpose as well as all the other harmful crap. If you want to get extreme , who is to judge ( GOD ) for placing it here ?

The banning of marijuana should have never happened in the first place. I'm a business owner and suffer from insomnia. Could use some "medicine"
