Have bad enough results with restricted and monitored alcohol let alone a drug that has been proven to incapacitate the brain. Why and who are we doing this for? Because u are not doing it to better humanity.

America was founded upon the ideal of liberty. And that involves the ability to exersise my will up to the point where it infringes on the equal rights of others. ANY law that violates my liberty is simply a tyranical law and 100% counter to the principles of true liberty.
Yours truly Tuco
P.S.
I do not smoke pot, nor do I drink alcohol or use ant other drugs. I simply do not believe the liberties of others should be limited to those things I chose to do myself.

So you believe that the only way to "better humanity" is to place draconion, totalitarian laws restricting the actions of individuals to allow only those behaviors that you find acceptable? This "betters humanity" how, exactly? Do believe Christianity "betters humanity"? If so; Would you also support laws forcing all people to practice Christianity as a means of "bettering humanity"? How much liberty should humanity allowed? Is liberty itself counter to humanity be "bettered"? Who gets to determine what makes a human "better" anyway? You? Yours truly Tuco
just tell me, how many people have been killed using Marijuana behind the wheel of a car.
Liberty should never be measured with statistics or deterimned by it's safety.
If pot was legalized, where you be opposed to outlawing smoking while driving?
Also, here in Texas, the law is DUI (Driving Under the Influence) not drunk driving. It is already against the law to drive high on pot. Legalizing pot would not change that.It also makes it nearly impossible to determine how many of those fatal accidents where the driver was charged with DUI where the result of pot and not alcohol.
Are you trying to posit the argument here that pot never cases car crashes?
Really?

Hello everyone! Most people who smoke it do not take responsibility for their actions. The government needs to destroy it. The alcohol needs to be destroyed, too. Thanks for your time. Have a great day!

Making it legal would generate real revenue and jobs. Just like alcohol and tobacco. police forces could concentrate on more important crimes.

Learn from history ie. prohibition. Legalize and tax MJ. Does away with a lot of bad guys (no more product) and bring revenue to cities(erase deficits). Same laws as alcohol sales and use ie. DUI etc. It is not the "bait drug" that some many establishment types would have you believe. If fact, look hard at those folks and see what is in it for them - I'll guarantee there is a profit of some type for keeping it illegal and if I had to pick a place to look, it would be big alcohol. Go ahead, prove me wrong!

Makes more sense to control and tax it the way we do alcohol. Many inorganic prescriptions drugs come on the market daily that only have disclaimers about what their long term effect will be. We know what the positive effects of good marijuana are!

By keeping marijuana illegal, it costs the government millions annually.

Tammy wrote: marijuana isn't a drug it's a plant (: and it needs too be legal Datura Stramonium is also a plant. It is also the strongest hallucinogen known to man. Commonly called Jimson weed, deadly nightshade, Jamestown weed and other names, it IS a drug, and a freakin' crazy powerful one at that. There are perfectly good reasons for weed to be legal, bumber sticker rehtoric and scientificaly stupid catch phrases are not among them. Sorry. Yours truly Tuco

George Washington even grew it on his farm Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison just to name a few....try basing your opinions on information, not fear and scare tactics this is America....whether you like marijuana or not, you should stand behind people's right to ingest any substance into their own body that they want.....provided no harm is caused to others in the process...
