It is safer than alcohol.

Americans display enough addictive behaviors (alcohol, tobacco, prescription meds, excessive entertainment/communications {texting while driving}), and our society spends enough on "rehabilitation" of people with "sicknesses" such as alchoholism, self-imposed cancers, drug rehab, gambling addiction, etc.
What we don't need is just one more "legal" vice for Americans to bury themselves (and the rest of us) in! |

Marijuana is less toxic than alcohol and has some medicinal benefits and is not physically addictive.

Pot isn't physically addictive. Psychologically maybe, but you do not experience withdrawls from just pot. |

For medical purposes

Because I'm laying here dying in pain.

If you really explore the facts beyond the talking points about this wonder-plant, it is pretty easy to support legalization.

It's NOT a drug like the poison pharmaceuticals derived from OIL.
It's an herb with PROVEN medical benefit and its users aren't rammy and violent like Boozers. It's illegal due to misinformation. |

Yep, legalize it. The drug war is a bust so we could save money by making it non criminal and while I'm on the financial part of this - tax it heavily (not popular) but there is money to be made from this, put the income to use in beneficial ways (just keep it specific so the grubby hands of various levels of government can't misuse the funds).
Watch some of the low level crime evaporate when the drug deals don't have to be made. It is certainly not a cure all but it is a step that is well past its time to be taken. |
|
|
Decriminalize it, it will free up police to do more importaant work. Tax it heavily and keeps the income away from the various levels of government - they will misuse the funds. Make specific recommendations for the use of the income from MJ, if the politicians get their grubby hands on it it will all be for naught.

It is very evident that it will always be around. It is less harmful than alcohol and many other prescription drugs. Legalize and tax it. WIN/WIN.

It's a weed. Smoke that, smoke pine needles, grass clippings-who cares. Alcohol is worse.

for medical use only / coffeeshops with registered users - illegal growing at home ---
Personally I am against recreational use of marijuana because I think it is just another drug like alcohol that is not necessary to have quality time in your life. It is also a taboo and taboos are not broken over night without conflict in society. |

George Washington enjoyed the fruits of his 'hemp plant' that grew wild on his plantation in Virginia.
Here's an idea - how about all of us who do partake, pick a time and turn ourselves in, en masses, to the CPD? I think if 70% of the population showed up on their doorstep waiting to be processed, we might get somebody's attention. What do you think? |

LOL,,I think i`ll burn a good green one first!!! |
|

yes, legalize it! While at it, lower the drinking age to 18. Change the driving law to give 16/17 year olds specific limited privileges.

The herb will save us.

Everyone is already smoking reefer despite the 1930's race-inpired laws aginst it. May as well let the government makes some bucks off of the industry. They did the same with the whiskey in the 1790s - they'll make a lot more taxing reefer. With the Right whining about the deficit yet unwilling to let Bush's tax laws expire, you'd think that they'd be happy for another sin tax that would make rthe deficit vanish.

Apparently you don't realize that folks are already burying themselves in pot - and have been since the 60's. The schools are full of pot smokers - legalizing this won't be making that many more of what you call "sickness" people. |
