It is obvious that that law enforcement can not stop the suppliers or users. Government might as well legalize it and tax it just like they do alcohol.

I have yet to see a lucid explanation from anyone as to how weed is any worse than alcohol and why alcohol is legal and weed is not.
It is estimated that if weed was legalized, regulated and taxed like alcohol and tobacco, the revenue would be $6 billion plus another $6-7 billion saved in enforcement costs.

getting drunk on alcohol is more dangerous than getting stoned on marijuana, they should make it like alcohol; if your over 21 it should be ok and you cant drive while stoned.

people will smoke anyway so it being illegal makes people feel psycologically criminal and creates two groups of outcast, smokers and police, instead of an integrated co-operative community

I just came back from Amsterdam. Let's concentrate our energies on something more threatening to the overall good, not on marijuana.

It is also a very inefficient allocation of federal tax dollars.
Couldn't we spend billions more on schools each year, instead?
Couldn't we spend billions more each year on renewable energy so we don't have to send billions of dollars to nations that aren't very friendly with us?
Couldn't we spend billions more each year on infrastructure?
Couldn't we spend billions more each year on health care?
Or, maybe we could cut taxes for the middle class by billions each year?
It doesn't really matter what you do. Pretty much any allocation of those funds would be more beneficial from a big picture national policy perspective.
Heck, flushing billions down the toilet each year is just as productive and arguably more aligned with the principals of our nation than locking people up for something as harmless as weed.
The problem is you have an entire sub-economy within this nation built around prohibition. Many folks out of pure self-interest alone don't want change.

It would help clean up the the gang activity on our streets, as well as creating many jobs! Not to mention the many medical conditions that could be treated using Marijuana. I very much support the legalization of Marijuana!

Legalize it and more people will use it than cocaine and then violence could drop. Legalize cocaine and most violence will disappear overnight.
It was the religious Right that created Prohibition (and all the trouble that followed).
Time to admit defeat.
