MJ is an addictive drug that opens the gate for further drug abuse. It is itself harmful. I daily witness the impact of this as a criminal defense attorney. Look at Amsterdam's huge heroin problem--legalization DOES NOT WORK!

Marijuana is not a gateway drug. I know countless people that have tried it once, never used again, and also never went on to try harder drugs. Could it possibly be that people that are predisposed to drug abuse (alcoholism counts here)tend to abuse drugs? Also, another point about the "gateway theory": Who do marijuana-users give their money to? Drug dealers, right? Drug dealers that may have other, harder drugs around. Legalizing marijuana would not only put money into the state, but it would take control away from dealers.
I have seen so many lives ruined by alcohol use-- and none because of marijuana. Alcohol is a toxin. Alcohol is addictive. Marijuana is not physically addictive. There aren't withdrawals. Have you seen an alcoholic dealing with the hell of trying to quit drinking?

I'm no conspiracy theorist, but almost all of the information you're asserting here was presented by biased studies done years ago. I encourage you to do a bit more research-- independent studies-- and try and see what I'm talking about.

Medical marijuana has been legalized in CA because of the extraordinary benefits it provides. Cancer patients can eat, become nourished and more apt to fare better during chemotherapy. It has been extremely effective at treating chronic pain and is a perfect and NEEDED alternative to prescription painkillers. It has also been shown to help with the behavioral issues experienced in children with Autism.

Just saying.
Just a thought

I believe if whoever is using it should have to grow it themselves and it should be like drinking and only used in their home or with a sorbor driver. Also they should share with their ***hole friends cause the rest of the world shouldn't have to put up with the crap that the ***holes dish out to the rest of us who have to put up with them.

Hey PEOPLE!!! I'm not asking you to smoke weed..... I'm asking you to not get all pissy if consenting, responsible adults choose to do so in their homes! Alchol kills 10,000 up people a year. Pot? 0. Just legalize it, tax it, and let's move on to more Im

We are prosecuting marijuana charges at felony rates in our young citizens limiting their ability to succeed, and in turn making heavier drugs more accessible.

Yes it should we are 15-20 years behind on this, so many people can get real results from suffering wint chronic pain. Youdont have to smoke it, there are many forms it comes in, even a lollipop. I know I would not have to take so much oxycontin if it were legal, I would love to have to not take another pill in my life if possible. Alabama is looking at this strongly, if it passes for medical grade I will get the heck out of Ga and move to Alabama, IF it passes there I got 3 houses for sale cheap.

They already have had a couple of interview from senators and judges.
They are doing a fantastic job getting the word out on the worthlessness and harms of prohibition.

LEAP are amazing because they are talking truthfully from the stand of those who are supposed to be enforcing this war on drugs.
They, the ones who should be kicking down doors and busting people over this, tell you how pointless it is.
I dislike drug dealers and traffickers as much as the next guy, but "prohibiting" them to do what they do is pointless. They are criminals, so they are not going to listen.

Please, everyone. Help end the War on Drugs... It's negative. It's wasted effort, wasted money and wasted potential.

MJ has never been proven to be addictive, sounds to me like you are only looking from the written laws and a client based scenerio that benefits you only. I knew an old man that died at 92 and from the age of about 65 or so he decided to try MJ for his Glaucoma
He would have delibating headaches from his problem and after a little MJ the pressure would lessen and his headache was gone . It helped him to function doing the things he need to do and not have to lay around with a wet cold washcloth on his head and being inactive.
As far as the Heroin addiction, MJ has nothing to do with that its a choice that some people make as to whether they want to be stupid or just arent educated enough to really care.
