If you compare it with alcohol, its hard to see the reasons why it is illegal. The main difference is that you can't grow alcohol in your backyard. The government gets nervous when you try to do something that they can't get their money-grubbing taxing mitts into. Therefore marijuana is illegal and is so evil that they won't even run studies to give any scientific evidence to its illegality. Its just classified in the same category as heroin and cocaine.

the only harmful affect from marijuana is the possibility of arrest. the war on drugs is a huge waste of taxpayer money, at best. it has gone on for decades and illegal drugs are still widely available

The government should reduce our debt and crime rates by legalizing. It is not as dangerous as alcohol. The side effects are unproven and unknown.

Not as dangerous as alcohol and could help reduce crime rates in the world. Also could be taxed to reduce our debt.

Would boost the economy with hemp production, end frivolous law enforcement and free up our jails/prisons for serious lawbreakers.

i do support the legalization of Marijuana, for medical purposes. Having Spinal injuries and rumatiod arthritis can be very painfull and having to live with that pain, is very difficult and on the other hand if the government legalized it,and regulated it the goverment could bring themselves out of the resession pay back some of this trillion doller det their in with china. All in the name of money.

It has alot of good benefits to it. Medically, cloths etc etc. It will always be around and to my experience the kids are going to get it if it's legal or not. STOP THROWING ALL THE STOP MJ!!! the pediphiles need the attention. Not some seed you can throw in the grown and grow.

Its never going away. So lets start using it in our cities. Hemp for clothes, the hemp heart/seeds have the most protein and other essential nutrition for eating. There are soooooo many uses for the plant.

People Marijuana impairs just like alcohol does, its also has greater long term effects on memory, cognation, and motivations. Also much less is known about the health effects of marijuana than of alcohol Marijuana smoke is more damaging to the lungs, its impairs hormone production, impairs immune system, has been linked to birth challenges, cancer. so how is it better than cigarettes and alcohol? Just because it grows on the earth does not make it safe!

They should just treat it like alcohol - tax it, put an age limit on it, and you can make/grow it at home as long as you aren't selling a ton of it.
