Our country spends way too much money enforcing laws concerning illegal drugs. I am not in favor of public use of marijuana, but if someone wants to buy it and enjoy it in the privacy of their own home, then so be it. It won't negatively affect me or my check book.

I would rather the enforcement dollars go to public works and defense.

We have bigger fish to fry.

The War on Drugs has been a useless, money wasting endeavor. There's every bit as many people using marijuana today as there was back when Nancy Reagan brought attention to this "Battle".

I don't think we have to legalize marijuana, but I've never known a stoner that did anyone harm and paying to have people incarcerated is a waste of my taxes.

If you legalize it people wouldnt have to go to illegal dealers and you take the criminality away from it so police can fight the real problem. Crack/Cocaine/Meth/Bath SALTS/DUI

Alcohol and drunk drivers are the worst. For medical reasons when you have cancer and you are sick to your stomach and can't eat. It helps take away from that. It will also relax your muscles but is not a pain relief medication. How many car accidents have been alcohol related that have destroed lives and taken lives? Know how many do you hear about a driver that smoked a joint then killed a family of 4.

Half the fun of it is getting away with it.Back in the seventies I ate a lot of refrigerated stuff that probably should have been thrown away.Never got sick though, Penicillan is a great drug.

You can also use the pill, Marinol, that a doctor can prescribe for medicinal purposes and your lungs are not affected by smoking it and taking in all the pesticides and other toxins from buying you some reefer off the street. Marinol is actually stronger and more effective in treating those that truly benefit from THC for medicinal purposes.

Nineteen arrested in Drug Sweep in Gaston County:

http://www.gastongazette.com/articles/sweep-7...

Nearly all of them for marijuana. This is just a complete waste of my tax money.

In other news: New York decriminalizes pot, in order to free up court resources: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/06/09/opinion/a-m...

Chicago is doing the same.

Is there any organized push for this in Gaston County?

Yeah I smoke and Anyone who thinks pot is more dangerous than booze is just crazzzzy! When have you seen someone STONED and falling down... Neverin my 20+ years of smoking have I ever not been able to say my ABC's. Another thing there are sooooo many perscription drugs that kill ypung people. If your kid is hyper then feed them some adderall or ridlin..if you get upset pop some xanax. Anyone who bashes weed has never smoked it. There are so many other things to worry about. The biggest thing around here is driving drunk. I really believe that if you get caught driving drunk 1 time your driver lic should be taken away for good. People would think twice about it then. I am worry more about the drunjs on the road than I do about someone who might have smoked a joint!! Anyone who thinks pot is worse than booze than your a fool.

Daily Horoscope for May 21

Pisces

It's a great day for fixing anything that needs attention now. That might be a dripping tap, a sick child, an unpaid bill or a miffed partner. However, you'll do particularly well if you need to sort out something connected with official or joint finances or red tape. You might be asked to help someone deal with a bureaucratic problem, especially if they're elderly.
