this is a natural plant that has received alot of bad propaganda with no atual threat. the money we waste in maintaining the present laws could well be spent in other areas. legalization would also open up a new farming industry along with other products created and a great new source of taxes while decreasing the work load of our judical system.

You legalise alcohol and millions of people get killed by a drunk driver. How many by someone high on weed. THIS COULD BOOST OUR ECONOMY. The government is missing out on Billions of dollars worth of our on grown product. Think of the tourist who would come to the USA just sit on the beach and blow on our great Weed. Send this thought to Obama.

legalizing it and taxing it would get most states out of debt (although its not helping ca budget problems...thats another issue). all the fed/state $ that goes to the criminalization of marijuana could then be used in other crisis areas such as education. and law enforcement could spend their time and resources combating more serious "crimes."

marijuana should be a medication that is given out by doctors. but the government and state should have a hand in this legalization.

it's a plant. it's an herb. Legalization would stop or at least reduce some of the illegal and shady behaviors of some that deal in it

So we should legalize mushrooms also right? I mean why not? It grows out of the ground also.

Liquor is legal and it causes lot more problems and crime than marijuana. The only reason it is not legal now is because the government figures they can bring in more money from fines than sales. It is not about anything but money.

All of the money being made on the streets could be going into the coffers of the state and local municipalities.

People die by the hundreds of thousands every year from cigarettes, alcohol, legal prescription drugs, illicit hardcore drugs, processed foods, but noone has ever overdosed on weed.

Just another way of enabling in appropriate substances. We have enough problems with youth without legalizing the drugs for them.
