Racially profiling, rounding up and deporting people is dangerous precedent to set considering the facist historical uses of such policy. Moreover, its a large burden for the tax payer, timely and causes american born children of illegals to become dependant on benefits in absence of their parents. If Arizonians want to go after someone for illegal immigration - let it be the businesses who hire illegals as a cheap source of labor.

Your not taking into consideration all the damage it causes our country; Illegals suck our social services dry,hospitals overburdened,bi-lingual services $$$$$$,drugs,uninsured drivers,drunk drivers,gang violence,millions of babies born to poor people who then look to the U.S.A. to pay the medicaid and school tab,and in general an unwillingness to learn ENGLISH.Why don't you volunteer to pay the bills?? 90% of the citizens I know are fed up.

It's the first step toward reducing crime, and making our own legal residents/citizens feel safe from the crime-levels jumping.
I'm Mexican-American,and know of the crime levels in Mexico, and I fully support the AZ law.Hope Pres. Obama and Congress will follow their lead and do something to help reduce the crime levels and social, financial burdens these border states are trying to handle by themselves.

Yes I support the Arizona's new law. I am 68 years old and I started working when I was 15 and I have paid in to social security every ear since then tru today July 5, 2010 and I do not feel that any - any illegal person should be able to come to the USA and get what I worked for for the past 53 years. They should have to obtain a visa like every other country requires, learn to speak ENGLISH, pass the citizenship classes, become a USA citizen, get a job and then and only then should they be able to get social security benefits, pay for medical and doctor visits, get food stamps and rent assistants.
The USA is not a free ride and should never pay anything for an illegal person. My grandparents - all four of them - came to America the legal way, from Poland, learned to speak English, worked hard to make a living - and did not get anything for free. It's a sad day in America when we let illegals get a free ride. They should be returned to Mexico and/or shot just like a criminal because they are commiting a crime.

These ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT children wouldn't be dependent on the US if their ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT parents hadn't broken our immigration laws to come here . They can go back with their criminal parents . Get a clue , lady .

it will create more jobs for ecominey and they dont need how health care or our benefits

I work for Human Services and see the fraud in public asst programs,lies, etc. from the illegals who apply. I'm tired of seeing illegals use citizens SS numbers and no one cares. I'm tired of paying for their kids born here. And worst of all is them acting like they are entitled to welfare.

Illegal immigrants are not welcome. They come to the US mostly from AZ and it needs to be stopped.

Ellen,like you I used to work in social services...the scams are rampant...and the favortism shown to Hispanics who don't belong here and won't speak English..is freightening...American citizens and their children are at a disadvantage.This must be stopped.Vote for Scott Walker...Gov. and call up your County Executive`Dan Vrakas who is doing nothing to stop illegals in Waukesha.Let's form a political action group to force our lazy politicians to do something like Jan Brewer did !!!!C'mon

It promotes discrimination to those who are legally here. Also illegal immigrants are not only coming from Mexico but from other countries as well. Including Europe. These illegal aliens look nothing like Mexicans. So it's nothing but unfair and discriminatory. Native Americans as well look like Hispanics and they are the true owners of this land. From the very beginning the US was built by illegal immigrants from European countries...they did not have a visa when they took the land from the native!!!
