i think it's about time that we as americans stood up to illegal immigration. this law has nothing to do with racism or racial profiling, it's in place to curb the influx of illegal immigrants

Yes, but Arizona is not regulating immigration...Arizona is only enforcing Fedreal Law.. The same laws and regulation that was enacted by Congress..The same laws and reulations that the Federal Government is not enforcing...Arizona is not deporting anybody (but maybe they should). Arizona will only be detaining and turning over to the Federal Government so the Feds can practice "catch and release".. So where's the "change"? Hope and change, how's that working out for you? Supreme Court already ruled that police do not need probable cause to ask immigration status. That was Muehler vs Mean.

Also, 1st Circuit, US Court of Appeals came to the same decision in Estrada vs Rhode Island. RI State Police has been doing it for years.

It should not be a *police matter*. Police have enough on their plate to enforce other matters.

So, let me get this straight... There are only certain laws that police should enforce? Can I pick which law I want the police to enforce against me?

It becomes a police matter the minute a law becomes active after being enacted..
