illegal = crime they are a burden and most are criminals not fair to those who go through the legal process of becoming a citizen. get them out

why should students who just want to succeed have to be treated like criminals. if you think about it there are some hispanic students who work harder than those who are citizens. i think we should give them a chance.

Interesting logic, or rather a demonstration of a lack thereof.
If a bank robber "just wants to succeed," does that make him a non-criminal?
If the bank robber "works harder" than non-bank robbers, should they get another chance?
Lisa may say that Illegal Aliens are not bank robbers, but the FACT is, they are both law breakers and therefore... both criminals!
We simply don't have the resources to feed, cloth, house, and provide cradle to grave services for the tens of millions that desire a piece of the American pie.

I'm for it i think all stgates should do the same thing

Everyone seems to flock to the USA to better their lives. In reality is that our continued exception of illegal foreign migrants has cause the US to become decrepit. We run to the aide of so many and spend millions on other countries all the while ignoring our own. migrants are allowed government money to open businesses and then given 5 years to run this business free of tax. Not even our own US born citizens are being allowed that privilege. We allot for funding and tax breaks and overlook fake ssn and credentials that if our own citizens were to use in attempts to gain welfare and other governmental assistance we would incarcerate them, fine them, and cut off all aide for five years. then if us born citizens did it again they loose their assistance for life.. Yet i live in a city where there are 5 homes that all recieve welfare and cash assistance with false ids and ssn's. they get almost 4,000 in cash a month and over 1500 in food stamps. this is unexceptionable and to have a state stand up and address that their citizens must come before illegal immigrants is aspiring. I hope that all states do this. Its not immigration that i am against as long as they must study to become a citizen before they enter the us not live here on welfare under assumed names taking jobs for 10 or more years prior to having to take the citizen exam( i know a women who was allowed to do that). the other thing is we pick them up deport them and all the while we know they will be back. if it was my choice i would close the boarders to non us citizens and I mean natural born ones. think about the state of the us and how these immigrants are sucking her life right out of her.

We cannot continue to reward lawbreakers and expect things to get better. If we reward millions who came here illegally, surely millions more will follow suit. Ten years from now we will be in the same position, with a whole new generation of lawbreakers seeking amnesty. Amnesty also insults legal immigrants, who face years of paperwork and long waits to earn precious American citizenship.

Birthright citizenship similarly rewards lawbreaking, and must be stopped. As long as illegal immigrants know their children born here will be citizens, the perverse incentive to sneak into this country remains strong. Based on the intent of the framers of the Fourteenth Amendment, some believe that Congress could exercise its Section 5 powers to prevent the children of illegal aliens from automatically becoming citizens of the United States. An effort in 1997 failed in the face of intense political opposition from immigrant rights groups. Apparently, the question remains open to the determination of the political and legal processes.

Citizenship involves more than the mere location of one's birth. True citizenship requires cultural connections and an allegiance to the United States. Americans are happy to welcome those who wish to come here and build a better life for themselves, but we rightfully expect immigrants to show loyalty and attempt to assimilate themselves culturally. Birthright citizenship sometimes confers the benefits of being American on people who do not truly embrace America.

We need to allocate far more resources, both in terms of money and manpower, to securing our borders and coastlines here at home. This is the most critical task before us both in terms of immigration problems and the threat of foreign terrorists.

Working hard is not a qualification for illegal entry in to the country.

As "students", they should be educated in the laws of this country, and therefore should work toward getting their citizenship like anyone else who wants to become a citizen of this country. They can go to school in their own country! You speak like there are no schools in Mexico, and elsewhere. Since when is it okay for someone to break the law just because they are going to school? How are they otherwise supporting themselves, being illegal? What would you do if someone sneaked into your neighborhood and asked you for food, clothes, rent money, transportation, and to pay for their doctor visit, and their college tuition? America is not a free ride. American tax money is going toward all of those things. That is my money, and that is YOUR money. Why do you think so many government services are suffering? America and its taxpayers can not afford to support its legal citizens, much less the illegal ones. Have you researched the money spent on supporting illegals? Do you realize how much you pay in taxes? Or how much schooling costs? Who paid for your schooling? Why should someone who isn't one of the many people in this country that pays taxes, reap the benefits of a free education? Illegal immigrants should not be given amnesty, nor any other help. They should be deported.
