The meaning of Christmas is not about Money or at least it is not supposed to be. The real meaning of Christmas is about our LORD and SAVIOUR.

I will spend a lot more. I am a member at Glasgow Country Club and we are a better class of person who have much greater spending power than those that live in local trailer parks. Sorry but its true.

Have a set amount for each person. Gift cards for adults. Kids will get gifts. Plan ahead

people don't need all the crap to live they need love nad each other. SPoiled kids and adult brats are the reason we are in the mess we are in as a country.

This kinda makes me sick. Yes I buy gifts for my kids and my family but I don't go all out and spend the limit on my credit cards. Noone needs all the crap. My kids and I are working on crafts and they are required to make a gift for each other instead of buying something. They need to know that giving is great but they also need to know that christmas is not about getting. In my house we learn about the pagan ritual that brought us the tradition of the christmas tree. We also learn about Jesus and the three kings. They also know the story about St Nick. All of the christmas traditions get used for money making ideas for the stores so in my house they will be used for knowledge and peace.

We are spending more because last year we only bought for a few people in the family. We want to bring smiles to more faces this time around.

i love this idea, i use to do the same thing, it always amazes me when people act surprised that it's Christmas time, they knew that Christmas was coming in June and July..why not start putting away a few dollars then. i always started making small gifts for my daughter in March or April. i made doll clothes, dresses, even the Christmas ornaments. She later in life told me that she never knew that I had no Christmas money because I always provided something and it was fun, alot of it is in the attitude, not the cash!

The oldest child will have to settle for a used car but I still think he will be happy. His brother will get a new computer and a new 4-wheeler. We worked our tales off this year but it will be all paid for by Christmas! I can't wait to see the look on my kids faces!!! We did cut back some this year and I hate that the car is used.

OMG really a used car for the oldest poor thing. I had to work and buy my own car when I was a kid and my parents could afford to buy one but they wanted me to earn how to work and save and be an actual human. Becareful you provide too much for your kids they will be thirty years old still playing video games in your basement. Just saying.
