I support Obama's health care porposal. I beleive that there are some changes that need to be made to it. It is not optimal yet, but health care reform is absolutely necessary to our country. Even those already paying for health care do not receive adequate services and are often left with gigantic co-pays. I personally have health care insurance and one visit to the hospital can cost me up to $2,000 in co-pays. My insurance company also has the right to refuse to pay for necessary treatment if they decide that they don't feel it is necessary. My insurance company has refused to pay for oxygen and transfusions which are necessary for me to be alive. Without these I would be dead and this is not an exaggeration. Massachusetts has a health care plan similar to the one Obama is suggesting. By law every citiczen of Massachusetts MUST have health care. If they are unable to afford it than they must enroll in the state program. So this is not a new idea. It works in Massachusetts and it has for over 4 years now. Health care reform must happen. It is necessary to the survival of our country. It doesn't matter if this is Obama's program or another program as long as it offers affordable health care to ALL.

Massachusetts has a similar plan that Obama is proposing. In the state of Massachusetts everyone must have health care. If they cannot afford health care they are offerred health care. It is determined by your income so if you can afford a certain amount, than you pay a certain amount. But you must have health care. It has worked for our state for years. Don't see how the country is any different. We also still have privatized insurance available to patients that can afford it. But all patients are covered and must be covered by insurance.

I would much rather my tax dollars go for equitable access to healthcare than for an immoral war. Like education it will pay dividends unseen. Every single one of us is vulnerable to losing affordable health care. It does not have to be a for profit business.
