Health Care Debate - Tehachapi, CA

I do not feel that the country can sustain the cost. We are doing too much spending. As well I believe that the current issues lay mainly with in the current insurance structure and that should be dealt with first. We should do this by layers. We need some change but not this. Also as things are brought out against this bill it is said well that will not happen or noone knows what the bill is so we cannot be against it if that is the case then how do the politicians know what they are voting for. I think this is just not the right way to go and will only cause everything to get worse. Someone said to me the other day who owns a very nice home outright has the means to buy insurance and drives brand new cars that they do not and have never had insurance. Why should they - others should just pay it for him. We have worked hard to provide for our families. That is the American way not aupplying to others so they do not have to.

No verification to prevent illegals from signing up. Families of anchor babies are elegible regardless of legal status AND no definition of what constitutes a "family".

Hello! It’s not just the illegal Mexicans that are coming into this country and reaping the benefits. We have illegal Asians coming in, going straight to the Social Security Office, applying, and qualifying for the benefit. They have by no means paid into the system and thus far are being paid the benefit. An attorney in the city of Fountain Valley Ca., a Caucasian man has his info-commercial airing on T.V. He has a female translator with him. Asian people call in and talk to the woman, she translates to the attorney, and he explains how they can obtain money from the U.S. Government and the State of California. Not a loan but money given to them for somewhere to live, utilities, provisions, transportation, university or trade school, and HEATH INSURANCE. Visit the Social Security office and peek in. See who is in there applying. They are being paid more money that the United States citizen who has paid their taxes. These people are instructed to go straight to the State offices and apply for benefits as soon as they arrive in the U.S. The Chinese are receiving money from the United States to invest in the foreclosed properties the United States tax payers are loosing. It is not a loan.

I have heard the term "Anchor Babies" mentioned in and around Tehachapi and it always refers to the illegal Mexican’s. You have the same views as the CNN anchor. All illegal people from all over the world coming into the United States should be included. Then and only then will we see how much of our tax money is spent on the illegal population for health care and other government hand outs.

I lived in Bear Valley and know first hand about the hispanics living there illegally and getting free health care. Forget about trying to fix that problem. My health insurance doesn't cover all by medications and no one person is helping me. Why should the hispanics get free health care if they are here illegally?

Sorry, you're in denial. Your post shows your ignorance, or justification to breaking the law. It's only obvious that the majority of illegals are of one race.

I just think that most people should really think about this ... if you can afford expensive health insurance good for you but let's face it without fair competition the insurance companies can charge what ever they want and they make alot of money from the goverment now., I don't know about you but we may be safer with the goverment plan than with the corporations making decitions on my life based on profit than our health.
