And the dems OFFERED tort reform, a repub issue, and the repubs VOTED AGAINST IT just so Obama wouldn't get credit for it! They also voted against several other initially repub. provisions for the same reason. I know it's interesting isn't it, back and forth and at the end of the day often times the same result. I personally think that tort reform is a lame subject, it was mostly a done deal in the early 2000 -2008 campaigns they set limits on how much someone could sue and standard settlement limits according to body part injured, if they tort reform anymore than they already have those crooks will be completely off the leash and can do anything they want to with any of us that they want to. The tort reform people of today are very naive, as most healthcare institutions are well covered with teams of criminal defense lawyers and studies have shown that only about 10% of people recieving healthcare ever think about sueing and less than that every visit a lawyer and even less than that ever go to trial. So the lawsuit scare is mainly and excuse for malpractice insurance companies to jack their rates sky high. It is all just one big game.

If it gets bad enough the workers (those providing for everyone) will eventualy stop working and wait to be provided for. Without workers there are no profits for the companies, there are no taxes to pay for government,Or the handouts they give to the lazy. As for the disabled they are normaly provided for by social security if they or their parents have ever worked. The health care issue is not even being addressed only insurance. Fix the root problem of price fixing and gouging by the providers via insurance companies. you don't use you're auto insurance to pay for tune-ups or oil changes do you? Health insurance is the same way. When people can afford to pay the doctor bills as they used to insurance companies will have to become competative again as insurance will be a major problem only policy. Just like an accident with you're car, Lawyers and insurance companies in concert with the doctors have made this system as corrupt as it is. and the government wants to reward them by giving them more money from the taxpayers. a 15 min visit to you're doctor and they charge 250 dollars that would be 1,000 an hour that would be 2 million dollars a year. Do the math look at you're doctor bill. Most of that is used to payoff the insurance companies and keep the lawyers at bay. Now look at drugs why does a pill cost $10 in America and the same pill from the same batch costs 50 cents in Canada? Why does the hospital charge $30 for an aspirin? use you're brain I know not all Americans are stupid enough to just follow politics like a bunch of lemmings. The $10.00 American pill costs 50 cents in Canada where they have socialized medicine. I don't know why could it be the socialized medicine. Why do u think?

While other countries have high taxes to allow for government run health care, the US doesn't.

Julie wrote: If you were to lose your job today or tomorrow, who would pay your healthcare bills? That is why we need reform because the economy is now on shaky ground and jobs are going under left and right. So, if you did lose your job, one could still receive healthcare. What is wrong with that? You are Right! Why are WE the ONLY developed country in the world without National Health Insurance? Are we more intelligent than the Germans, the English, the Swiss, the Canadians, the French, the Swedes, the Japanese, etc.?? The Republican Wing Nuts, the Health Insurance Companies and their bought and paid for politicians, and some American Doctors who make exhorbitant salaries told us LOUDLY and REPEATEDLY that Canadian National Health Insurance was terrible and most of the people in Canada hate it. THAT WAS AND IS, a monstrous LIE. Tommy Douglas, a Canadian preacher turned politician is credited with doing more work than anyone else to bring a National Health Insurance Progam to Canada. Recently, a NATIONWIDE Canadian Poll, placed on the Ballot of a National Election, was done to select Canada's Greatest National Hero. Guess who won the vote hands down? Tommy Douglas! Search; Tommy Douglas voted Canada's Greatest Hero. Know the TRUTH, and the truth shall set you free! You don't have CONservative politicians in Canada who are against National Health Care, even Conservatives support it OR they don't get elected.
