If we don't get a government option, the insurance companies win. Mark my words,,in one year the insurance companies will come to the US gov for more money because with the plan in place with no option, The gov will try to make insurance companies cover everyone with preexsisting problems and that will cost more.Lets face it, We good americans are screwed. Let the greed begin. Jim in florida

Medicare is a great system. We're only asking to extend that coverage to all and only a Universal system will do that. Let's vote for it and bury all the thieves of the existing health care sytem.

i have been in a panic for years because i couldn't afford health care. this week i turned 65 and got medicare. unless you're in that position, it's difficult to for you to understand the anxiety. It's not that I didn't try to get health coverage, i did, however the cost was prohibitive and the benefits silly. if the insurance companies are not reined in, our longevity will certainly do a downward slide.

Socialism is not the answer to the issues that we have with our current health insurance system. When was the last time the gov't ever provided a real solution for anything?

Actually, you are a knucklehead. This is America and our government respects and supports individualism not corporatism. What really makes you the dummy, is that Socialism doesn't work, it always leads to totalitarianism.

Yes, I support changes in health care. At this moment there are several bills in different committes, so the final version is yet to be known.
As a retired RN, the system and our economy cannot be sustained unless drastic changes are made.
