I want the 46 million people who are not covered to be covered. The current system of health care in the country is unsustainable. We have no choice but to change it.

I completely agree, but read any part of any of the proposed bill and you will see why so many are so adamantly opposed!

Hey Larry. The Great Prophet Obama just revised the 46 million number to 30 million in his screed to congress the other night. This of course was a disingenuous ploy to pretend that there will be no coverage under his "plan" for illegal aliens who make up 16 million of the original "shock" number. Please note that over half of the rest of the unisured are uninsured by choice - they could afford coverage if they chose to pay for it. The rest are people who want a hand out and their children. Many (even the parents) are qualified for existing govenment programs but are just too lazy or too ignorant to enroll. ALL are afforded mandatory free treatment by emergency rooms. We do not need the Great Prophent Obama and the corrupt Chicago mob involved in the equation. They confiscate enough of my "earned" money already.

I want nothing from my federal government then the defense of our national interests and the making of treaties abroad. The rest should be left up to state and local governments, churches and fraternal organizations. Butt out of my life Obama.

Medicare is the best insurance out there. Obama's plan will be similar. Private insurers have denied, revoked, and delayed care. They have forsaken their right to be at the bargaining table

I know, what hope can we have for our country when people dont read the very document it was founded on. And when they do. They discard it as a mere historical document.

Has anyone considered what this overrated and misguided bill will do to MDI hospital and medical centers? Think about the public option which will reimburse the hospital and docs at no more than Medicare, and possibly Medicaid, rates. The only reason they survive now is because the private insurers are willing to pay more for procedures and labs, which makes up for the underpayments from government sponsored programs. I truly believe Obama and Dem's goal is to get us all into the public option. Private insurers can't compete with that plan obviously. And of course Obama has stated clearly that that's his strategy in the long run. And note that Snowe had to co-sponsor an amendment to keep government bureaucratic recommentations on mammograms from becoming policy. Are we to expect the Congress to come to our rescue every time the beaucracy decides to endanger our health?
It's all BS.
