The majority of uninsured people fall into 2 categories: those who don't want to pay for insurance or ILLEGAL ALIENS.

Most people are working. please read the unemployment percentages. also please look at the number of people who, although working full time at a reputable job are getting paid less then they should and are not offered insurance at their job. I worked as an office manager at a medical office. it was the only job i could find after being gone 6 months when my father passed away to help my mother. they paid me $10.00 and hour and No health insurance. to get insurance on my own, the cheapest i could find was over $250 a month and really only covered major medical. I could not afford $250 a month on $10.00 an hour. i live very frugally. i do not waste my money. this is the story of most people. their employers do not offer insurance and they do not make enough money to buy it as an individual. Your Are Wrong.

This is also a major factor in the increased national debt.
These need to expire.

I was responding to the FACT that MOST people without insurance are in fact working 40 or more hours a week at reputable jobs and their employer does not even offer insurance. this is to no fault of the employee. yet we, I, still have medical bills. Something needs to change. simply blaming those without insurance stating it is their own fault they do not have insurance is a blatant lie.

I do think the government shld have intervened, but by cutting out the insurance companies, except for major medical. regular office visits, checkups, anything other then major medical (when you enter the hospital for an overnight stay) has risen in price only because of the insurance companies and for no other reason. taking them out of the equation and letting local doctors offices be a competitive market like any other business in town would bring the price down. same with pharmaceuticals. NO MORE ADVERTISING BUDGETS SHOULD BE ALLOWED FOR DRUGS. that is driving our price up and its down right WRONG. neither shld they be allowed to make 'MARKETING VISITS' to the doctors offices with gifts of bribery. this sort of behavior is wrong in many other sectors, why not this one. this is our health and our doctors should be making decisions based on what is best for the patient, not themselves.

I disagree.

Having insurance is an expense. If the employer doesn't offer it a responsible person contacts an insurance agency and pays for it. You have to budget for it like you do auto or homeowners insurance.

How many people without health insurance own a car? How many buy cigarettes?

I pay over $400 a month for health insurance. Can I afford it? Absolutely not! But I pay for it because I have medical expenses.

You have the same right I do. Buy insurance and don't expect my tax money to pay for your failure to act responsibly.

Do you have a clue how much money and time doctors put in to become doctors? Why shouldn't they be compensated for it?

Do you have any idea how much it costs to research and develop new drugs? Do you think pharmaceutical companies shouldn't be able to recoup their costs? Most doctors are too busy to read about new drugs and unless a representative comes to their office they don't know what is available.

You sound like the type of person who would bitch if you didn't get the latest drug. You also sound like the type of person who thinks someone else should pay for your medical care.

as an office manager of a medical office who makes $10 an hour i cannot afford to buy health insurance and keep a roof over my head. where i live it is illegal to be homesless and if i were homeless i would not be able to function properly at my job. i do not decide the high rents, high energy costs, etc...., i cannot possibly get my expenses any lower, i am not willing to be homeless in order to have health insurance. it is the only thing that can go. can you do math? add up average, or even the lowest rents, renting a room, not a house or apartment. electric, water, gas, I do not have a car payment. car insurance, food, phone, my landlord allows me free internet access but most people have that too, checking fees, there isnt enough money leftover to buy the insurance, which is my point. You do not read very well either. I did not say you or anyone should pay for my health bills. I said it should be affordable and that I did not agree with giving the insurance companies a cut which raises the price.

OBAMA IS TRYING TO TAKE OVER OUR LIVES AND OUR FREEDOM. Obamacare is just one of his take over tactics. Fast and Furious Gunrunning operation is another, This would have given him support to take our guns away and neutralize opposition to his dictatorship. Please Wake Up America.
