I have read a very large portion of Baucus Bill and as a soon to be senior am alarmed at the proposed cost.

In part it's the issue of equity. For nearly forty years (since my 20's) I paid the same insurance rate as a sixty year old. Now it's A RISK MODIFIER, so that I'll be forced to pay a huge multiple of what a twenty year old gets to pay. My insurance rates would double! Thanks guys.

Oh yes, my taxes will increase too, to pay for those who have no insurance coverage. Thanks again.

Question to ponder. If this is so good, why isn't Congress going to get the exact same deal WE get? Oh, sore subject eh? Wait, who pays for Congresses great medical great deal ???

Question: if tort reform (extravagant) lawsuits is 5% of the high cost of medical cost in US, why don't the Democrats in power Really work on tort reform?

(note the math 5% of all medical costs. The initial stated goal was to find a way to pay for the 20% or so that don't have medical coverage (outside of free emergency room treatment) so tort reform could pay for 1/4 of this extravaganza.(5%/20%= 1/4)

Answer: Because the American Bar Association is a huge Democratic Party sponsor. They typically get 1/3 of these huge settlements. No wonder THEY DON'T WANT TORT REFORM, and can afford to pony up money to their lobbyists to distribute to the right folks in congress.

So as I approach retirement (having WORKED all my life)
1) My costs are going up HUGELY for insurance and taxes and
2) We are not all treated fairly or even the same.

Obama's plan will cost at least a trillion more than advertised and Congress will never find 400 billion in medicare savings.Add this to the 200+ billion increased doctor payments and the deficit balloons.

Too expensive and vague. We need reform, not additional meddling, corruption and red tape. Government is not structured nor qualified to sell insurance.

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Scorpio

Your thoughts turn to the past today, putting you in a nostalgic mood. You're awash with sentimental tears as you dwell on days gone by or gaze at photos of people you'll never see again. However, try not to let this mood of reminiscence turn into a tendency to feel sorry for yourself and therefore to demand special treatment from others.
