we do not need to reform 16% of the entire economy in order to insure the uninsured. The Democrats simply want more government control over our lives. Subsidize the people who do not have nor can afford health insurance.

Illegal Aliens that shouldn't be here in the first place, shouldn't be covered.

It has not seen the light of day, let alone being and understood by those elected persons accountable to us for good government. It is cramming a issue through the party in power which is not good for our nation.

The health care system is inadequate. Our nation, the richest in the world, cannot afford to have millions of children and citizens without adequate health care options. We have to start somewhere and can fix and adjust as inadequacies become apparent. Too many people are making this a political issue whereas it should be an issue of what is right and necessary, not just a chance for opposing political entities to get sound bites!

The government haven't managed to run anything well, I seriously doubt they'll do a good job with health care.

What do you mean the government has managed to run anything well? Who made the Interstate system? Who funded, researched, and developed the Internet? Last time I checked, Medicare was successfully providing extensive health coverage to over 100 million Americans. That's not doing well? Is your definition of "doing it well" that there are no glitches or mistakes? Nobody can do that.

It is true that new government programs often need to be refined and corrected as they go along, but we do have to start somewhere! Surely no one believes that having absolutely no medical care for so many of our citizens is the right way to go? We need to have a starting point, then make adjustments as necessary.

I do not believe that illegal aliens should be covered, which is paid by our tax dollars. If they need EMERGENCY medical care while in our country, then our government can bill and collect charges from their government. Also, the common practice of pregnant illegal alien women waiting until the last possible minute to cross the border so the child can be born on American soil to automatically become an American citizen is just wrong! A newborn should not automatically become a citizen unless one or both parents is already a citizen. But that would take a constitutional amendment, which is nearly impossible to get passed! The problem of illegal aliens is a huge one and I don't know what the solution will be, but we do need to do something to keep our tax dollars from supporting them with medical care, food stamps, welfare, schools, et cetera. Our tax dollars should support and help our own citizens, not illegals!

Nothing screws up anything like the Government! Once healthcare comes under Feds we'll never be able to take it back! Don't be fooled...AARP sold the people out!

You want to mess up something? Just let the Government take it over! And forget AARP who sold their member's best interest. Once Feds get ahold of health care we'll never be able to get out of it. Prices will go up and we'll be worse off than ever.

Many working people must choose between feeding their kids and health insurance. Insurance premiums have gone up 6 X the rate of inflation with progressively less covered, and more out-of-pocket besides. 62% of bankruptcies are caused by medical bills. The insurance companies make OBSCENE profits on the backs of sick and injured. This is so morally wrong there are no words for it.
