Get a job huh....yeah like they come so easily these days! My father has busted his ass for years and years, one of the hardest workers I've ever known...and has NEVER not worked since I can remember. At the age of 62 he was laid off from his company along with all nationwide managers within his company due to the economy and now has no health insurance. He and my mother both have severe health issues. You think its that easy to find a damn job these days?? Especially at his age. You need to stop & think about it. Yeah, there are alot of lazy folks in this world, BUT there are ALOT of people who bust their ass and want to work, and NEED health insurance, they can't help they get laid off....so stop running your mouth. I pray that you or someone you love is never affected by job loss, because then you will see the reality first hand!

So you think my tax dollars should be responsible for your families health care? I don't think so! I bust my butt along w/ my husband so that MY family has health care. I don't need nor do I want the government getting involved in that area of my life. Just because he was laid off does not mean he can not get coverage. There are independent plans available and there is always cobra. I'm sorry for the hardship your family is going through, but Obama's HC Plan is not going to fix your problems. Because this is America and we still have our rights, I can run my mouth and say what ever I think or feel about a situation.

Yeah and MY tax dollars would pay you and your families if need be....AND I wouldn't mind if it helped out others. That's what's wrong with this world....everyone thinks of me, me, me....what ever happened to helping those in need. Like I said before...I pray that you or someone you care about are never affected by job loss. You can run that mouth all you want, but you might feel differently when your walking in those shoes. Or hell, maybe I should hope that you do want in those shoes so you do know first hand how it feels. Cobra?? Please, give me a break, do you know how much that plan cost. And yes, other plans to...but guess what ...they cost money to, and when you don't have a job, and still have a mortgage, utilities, children, etc, etc....where exactly do you get the money to pay for those plans?? Unemployment doesn't pay CRAP, so you surely don't get it there. If I had to choose to pay my mortgage and utilities to keep a roof over my kids heads then that is what I choose. I don't agree with ALOT of what President Obama is wanting to do.....BUT you said "get a job"...like folks are just sitting around not wanting to work & that my dear is NOT the case for tons of Americans these days!

Hmmm. Where do I start. I think that all children and seniors should have health insurance and adults over the age of 18 need to get it only if they have paid their dues and they should only get it for a limited time. For example. Dad worked for 5 years or longer at a company and got laid off. Dad and Mom should be able to keep benefits for up to a certain amount of time while each of them are trying to find new jobs.(maybe 6 months) Their children however should get to keep benefits until dad and mom get employed. They should not have to suffer. Of course I think medicaid covers all of that now anyway. There are just so many people sitting around saying there is no work when they don't want to work for minimum wage. Some money is better than no money. I see signs all the time in the windows of McDonalds and other fast food restaurants. Granted, they aren't going to pay $50K a year, but it's something. So, I think there should be a cap I guess is what I am saying. I work full time and I am a single mother and I don't believe I should have to "help" another family when I am working hard to keep mine going. So in my case, I am all about me, me, me, and my, my, my children! They come before anyone else.

No, I’m not walking in your shoes, but have I? YES! I’ve been there. After paying the mtg, Insurance & Utilities I had to eat Ramen Noodles for every meal because it was all I could afford. Did I ask other hard working people to pay for my health care? NO! You’re right my life is centered around Me Me Me, because as an adult, a mother & a daughter, MY family is MY concern. I put them 1st and foremost above any one else. So NO I don’t think it is my responsibility to take care of your family…that is your responsibility. I should not be forced into a situation that I don’t agree with or feel is fair, because you need help. I’m sorry you’re family is suffering. I do a lot for people who are less fortunate and donate proceeds from my business to multiple charities, but I choose to do that, I’m not told by my Government that I HAVE to. That is my point!

Ok let me clarify a few things. I don't mean that everyone should have to pay for my families insurance....me, my brother, and my sister are busting our butts to help my parents in their time of need now...just as they provided for us growing up, we are now returning the favor as adults...its what families do for each other. I don't agree with Obama on just about anything....he opens his mouth, and the crap starts! What angered me is YOU said...."THEN EVERYONE SHOULD GET A JOB AND PAY FOR IT LIKE THE REST OF US DO."....like the people who NEED help aren't willing to get jobs, they are just sitting on their butts, which I'm sure is true for some, but NOT for alot of people. So to me, you do put YOUR family first, but you also help those in need!!! If you needed help, you would want someone to help you, when your on your last leg. I to have been a single mom of two, and went without, and ate Ramen Noodles, or cereal just to make sure my kids had and I could keep a roof over their heads. I've busted my butt for years, and I've had my bouts with the "tough" life and the "comfortable" life....lived them both. BUT I do know that God wants me to help others when I can, he sees that, and he rewards those who give unconditionally. So my main point wasn't so much on the health care issue, but the fact that you made it seem like people who want insurance should have to work, as if they aren't willing to do so, but they ARE!

Oh, and Becky Sue....for the record, my Dad, even at the age of 62 is willing to work fast food, or whatever he can get to provide for him and my mom in their senior years...he's not too proud to do what he has to do to make it in this world. Would he much rather be making the $55K he was, heck yeah...BUT he'll do what it takes, even if with his poor health, he has to work two jobs...he and my mom have both done that to take care of their families!

I need $36,500 for a new Corvette. Please give me the money and God will reward you significantly. If you do not, however, give me the money, you will surely burn in Hell for all eternity. I can assure you of that.

CHILDISH people....gotta love them! You don't NEED a new Corvette. You give to those in NEED, and that is a want, not a NEED. But I will surely pray for you, I can tell you "definitely" NEED that! I'm done here, clearly you can't speak your mind without having to deal with immature people who need a reality check in life! Good luck to you with that!

How would you pay for your Healthcare in the event of a loss. Besides, people change jobs and lose out on their healthcare. I wonder how much tax money do you depend on.

It is obvious that individuality plays a role in such selfish thoughts. You speak of COBRA as if it is affordable. You lose your job you lost your income. If you don't want to participate in sharing responsibility via taxes, move out of the country.

Let us face it, McDonough is a racial pool of haters. They are terribly upset with the fact a BLACK man has made it to the highest office of the land. You all tolerated the last administration with a number of fumbles. I do not tolerate narrow minded people. They make me sick. YOu are no better than the leadership in IRAN.

I don't think anyone is upset that we have a black president. I don't care if he or she is pink, yellow or purple. What I do care about is that they make good choices and I haven't seen anything this moron that's president now has made. If this healthcare bill passes we will all be doomed along with the rest of the world. America is the leader on R&D with finding cures but it will be just like all the other socialist countries with healthcare being rationed. Anyone that believes in government run healthcare is a fool! There isn't one thing that government does that's efficient!

Tell me WHY I should share a responsibility for people that don't contribute to paying taxes anyway? They are already sucking us dry on welfare, why should I give them any more of my hard earned money???? I take responsibility for for my own family, your family is your concern.

I think each individual case should be judged accordingly. Some have worked and lost their jobs, but others haven't even tried. It's a touchy situation but I think if my taxpayer money has to go to anything, I would rather it go to my fellow Americans then Banks and other political issues. As for the President, he didn't start this mess but he is working hard to fix it. My biggest fear when Obama was elected was that people would forget that he inherited this and he has to work to fix a tangle web of mess.

*** You are an idiot.***

Mandatory health care = racism ???
How do you link the two ??

How do you propose that people without a job and/or without any income pay for this mandatory health care??
How do you propose that people who do have jobs but are barely making it by now pay for mandatory health care??

Are you going to support these people?
Do you have enough income to support more than one family??

Keep calm and all will be well. You're feeling slightly fraught because there are so many demands on your time, and it won't help if you're trying to juggle some last-minute chores with some fun-filled social events. Get others to lend you a hand, or tell yourself that perfection is not an option right now and that you'll have to scale down your preparations accordingly.
