The cost of health care should be addressed before they worry about the insurance. I wonder if any of them have ever looked at an itemized bill from a hospital. My last one had a $550.00 charge for a doctor that spent less than 10 minutes in my room with a stethescope. How about a price list from doctors and hospitals revealing how much they charge for services? How much to remove an appendix, tonsils, gall bladder, etc.
Something tells me we'll never see that price list. What I really don't like is the government telling me I HAVE to buy insurance or I'll be penalized. I thought we were supposed to be telling them what to do. We're paying them to tell us what we have to do. I don't think so!! |

In 1966 when my son was born I didn't have health insurance ,I worked in a sweat shop in Knoxville Tn.I had to pay out of pocket for DR and hospital. There is no way that a person can do that today.I believe that the Drs,hospitals, drug companies and insurance companies have caused a lot of these high prices we have today.A government controlled health plan will not fix anything, prices will only get higher. In my 71 years on this planet I believe we have the worst bunch of scumbags in Washington that I can remember ,they need term limits and their free health insurance taken away. All the right wingers and liberals need to join together and become Independants and vote out the scumbags.

Too expensive. Another huge power grab of very doubtful benefit to many citizens. There are many other options that don't put layer upon costly layer of Federal government in my health.

Hospitals have been charging more to people with health insurance to compensate for those who pay nothing for their care. If you owned a restaurant and you were not wealthy and a large segment of the population insisted on being fed for free, you would have to raise the price of your meals to your paying customers to stay in business. It stinks but thats how it is. Change that and you'll have health care reform.
