It forces everyone to participate in insurance whether they want it or not. Even though there is not a universal healthcare, it amounts to that because every insurance plan will be required to conform to the government rules; they will be regulated even more by politicians and bureaucrats. My mother was happy with her Medigap insurance that included drug coverage but when they passed Medicare Part D; it went away. The company told us their plan didn't conform to the government mandates, so they choose not to offere it anymore.

What happened to the transparency the President promised? Why isn't this issue on C-span like Obama promised, not just for an hour or two, but completely open. Let the people see exactly what goes on in passing a bill and CONTENT of the bill.
