too much government control. Increase competition among private insurers. Allow insurance to cross state lines.

Does anyone care that people are dying for lack of insurance. Its seems to me when it does not affect you personly, you fail to care that 4000 people are dying everyday for lack of insurance and that is just despairing.

Yes, ej, I do care- I don't have insurance either, but because the insurance company kept raising the rates on my husband, we had to drop them too. So now neither of us have it. We are both self employed, so we cannot enjoy the luxury of group insurance. That being said, I still understand the impact of forced, government run insurance on us and everyone else. If we could afford it right now, we would get it. We are not stupid enough not to want it, we just happen to think that food and shelter come first. What will the penalty be for not getting it with this new plan? Jail? Fines? That's the answer, because that will certainly make it affordable after that ordeal. We don't need more forced rules on how to budget our money, just more affordable insurance. Doctors have forgotten why they are in that line of work, pharmeceutical companies don't want to cut into their astronomical profit, and insurance companies' higher ups like their luxury cars and houses, so what's your plan? I say we all get Cpr certified or our nursing degree and start helping each other. Seems like the nurses are the ones doing the work these days anyway. Happy Halloween, Trick or Treat- that's what you seem to get now, usually a trick!

No socialized medical programs. We are so very far in deficit spending, I swear we can not handle more federal debt. As of right now,if we were able to pay 100 mil.dollars per day to bring down the debt load it would take over 3000 years at that rate. Folks, we are going over the cliff with the Democrates driving. Why don't they get it>

Too many middle class, and working families can't afford health care in Texas. This is not right in the USA.

Why is the U.S one of the only industrialized countries without universal healthcare? Do you really want the insurance companies making money off of your poor health?

The only competition that has been created by the private insurers is who is going to profit more from you getting sick? When a FOR PROFIT company is determining what they will/will not cover and makes a profit on everything that they deny....think about it. Almost every country that has universal healthcare, which is almost all of the other industrialized countries, the actually reduced costs. Don't let the Private Insurers lobbyists twist the facts and only say that your taxes will be raised.

We are so far in debt because the Republicans cared so much about getting us into conflicts where we don't belong instead of taking care of our own people. If you look at socialized medicine every where else in the world, you'll see that costs actually came down. Maybe if we didn't spend trillions of dollars on a "terrorist" war that can NEVER be won and spent it on Americans, we wouldn't be in so much debt.

Yes you do deserve access. This issue is more complicated than going to the moon. Rapid rocket shots to the moon would not have been successful. The problem is the Obama solutions is just like all of the other social solutions of the past 80 years. Every one of these are now broke. Unsustainable when congress (Presidents are the executors of legislation) created them. January 1, 1936, Social Security had a known terminal date.

There is not enough money anywhere to provide the Obama plan. We Americans have been subsidising EU for the past 50 years. England-Australia-Canada (any similarities here) have participated in world events greater than any other. EU that has social medical care will in the near future, unless some great revenue basket appears be also BROKE. TAX CAP will perhaps shift American money to Europe. This will be their basket of temporary fixing of a poor system.

Suppose your Access of health care is given. You are 65 (what a magical number) and your ailment is not covered. A committee decides whether you get fixed or not. There is no language prohibiting an executive or congressional change. None. In the mean time this Committee is government paid, and they all have the 'super' insurance" guaranteed plan, paid for by you and me, that allows the Rolls Royce coverage of any and all ailments for ever and ever.

Congress and other elected appointed officials have this same Rolls Royce super plan. You and I??? This is the call of Danger to Individuals. This resembles the Kingdoms of 1400.

There are 16 items that contribute in part to Health Care costs all caused by government, and virtually none of these are part of the Obama plan to fix. Why?

The President has unusually gifted Leadership capability. Unfortunately he has less experience than another gifted -Sara Palin.

Daily Horoscope for December 19

Virgo

Someone is easily angered today, and you'll want to tiptoe around them at every opportunity. They might be on the defensive and imagine that you're getting at them all the time, or they could be quick to point the finger of blame straight at you. It won't be an easy day, but try not to get swept up in the emotional dramas that are swirling around you. They'll only exhaust you.
