when I didn't have health care," LEGAL CITIZEN" I couldn't get help from the Government. Now they want to secure a way for illegal citizens to get health care. That's what all of this is about. Instead they should take that money and put a watch dog at the gate towards health care fraud.

congress/aka/pelosi are not fixing the problem-they ae not addressing tort reform, doctors' liability insurance, pre-existing conditions, continuing insurance when you change jobs, & buying across state lines, but we can offer insurance to illegals which is one reason the cost is high. And let's not forget, the insurance companies follow rules made by congress, who are now accussing the insurance companies of following those rules and not providing quality insurance. The problem is government. We do not need to change the entire insurance coverage in this country as Congress is doing, we need to address only certain parts of the system. This is too large a challenge for congress. People seem to think if we have nationalized health insurance it will be free, but it will not be-nothing is free. Placing the burden by taxes onto the wealthy is a huge mistake-it means people will be laid off, costs of materials will go up and so on.
I do not want to be equal in anyway to other countries-I want this country to be better, Let's not apologize for being great and let's not become part of the failing nations by adding government health insurance. Congress will rob the health insurance bank as they did medicare/soc. sec and the post office.
We have a fearful congress, most of them politicians not statesmen, who feels it owns this country-we own this country, every building in it and we pay these congressmen and if we don't want nationalized medicine, it shold not be

If you want to give 12 million people health care fine but leave mine alone!! leave the Dr's alone and go after the drug companies. They are the ones with cures for diabetes but will not tell anyone because they would loose money. Money is the root of all evil.

we need it

1. Government does NOT create competition as government is NOT a company with profits generated from profits. Their "profits" come from OUR pockets.
2. Overworked/underpaid doctors + decreased payout X no incentive to become or stay being a doctor/more patients than one doctor can handle = decreased quality of care and more medical mistakes.
3. Here's the kicker: you can't sue the government! So what will happen to medical malpractice lawsuits under this type of government run program?
4. SOLUTIONS: Torte reform, insurance portability so you can carry your insurance from one state to another (that will drive competition), tax breaks tax breaks tax breaks! And get rid of the lobbyists - who wants a lawyer or politician making life or death decisions for their kids, spouse or loved one?
Finally - since this proposed health care "reform" is so great, I am sure all politicians and government types including the president will be funnelled into the same program with no exceptions or preferential treatment (right).
