If and when the federal government passes a healthcare bill, the people of the state of Virginia need to contact their state officials and get them to invoke Nullification as guaranteed by the 10th Amendment. This is what the 10th Amendment say about Nullification. Whenever a state nullifies a federal law, it is proclaiming that the law in question is void and inoperative or non-effective, within the boundaries of that state, not a law as far as that state is concerned. The 10th Amendment Movement is an effort to push back against unconstitutional federal laws and regulations on a state level. The principle is known as Nullification and was advised by many prominent founders. Arizona and some other states said they are going to invoke Nullification concerning healthcare in their respective states and Virginia needs to do the same. Have a good day.

yes, just wish they got the public option in there, but at least we can buy across state lines and make these insurance companies compete.......also glad they done away with the pre-existing condition......i tried to get individual coverage on my 15 year old son and because he had broke his knee and had surgery it was going to be $900 per month because of his pre-existing condition.............health care regulations would be great......regulate insurance companies.........they are making billions

They completely done away with pre-existing conditions?
|
|
yes, The rollout starts with children. Six months from the day the bill was signed (let’s see ... that’ll be Sept. 23, by our calculation), insurers will no longer be able to exclude children with preexisting conditions from being covered by their family policy. For current policies, that means insurers will have to rescind preexisting-condition exclusions. Insurers will not have to take the same steps for adults until Jan. 1, 2014. |

Federal Laws overide state Laws doesn't it?

TEA BAGGERS think like the herd. It's not happening. What's happening? The game for business is changing, and the CEO's will need to adjust fast. Those who are smart, and understand the game will stay on top. Those who are lazy will fail. The rules will change and good business will restructure and adjust. Just like all the tea baggers. What I find funny, talking heads only focus on the weakness of government. The talk show hosts win, government wins, yet the herd loses. WHY? Because it's not about your government helping you, it's about learning to play the game of risk, and winning more then you lose. Contrarians play the game to win. Herds are meant to be milked.

Ok, so we vote no on healthcare and what? Are you footing the bill for thousand dollar doctor visits? The healthcare bill is not socialism and it's a great idea. Even Nixon wanted healthcare bills passed, do you believe Nixon, of all people, was a socialist too? The only thing this bill is doing is giving out of control insurance companies some healthy competition. No one is twisting your arm or forcing you to buy government healthcare policies, if you want to pay thousands every time you visit the doctor, go ahead, but I for one think this is a much needed change. Obama seems to be slowly redefining the role of government, making it work in favor of the people, not at our expense.

No, the healthcare bill is not socialism. No, the Canadian healthcare system is not socialism. No, the British Healthcare system. What do you people take us for, a bunch of blathering idiots. All of the federalism the federals in Washington have been pedaling since 1913 is pure, inadulterated SOCIALISM. Federally we have a socialist government but I suppose you are going to try and convince us we are governed by the Constitution and not by socialism. Federallly we are a socialist nation. It is when a person like governor Brewer of Arizona tries to do something about the disatrous condition in her state the Feds show their socialism a lot and all of these socalled programs for the good of the people are pure socialism. The takeover of a large portion of American businesses is pure socialism. The attempted takeover of the West Virginia coalfields are pure socialism. We, the American population, are not idiots and we know socialism when we see it. The largest corporation in America is the socialist government on the banks of the Potomac.

Goldanged ol' gov't building us roads all over, we ought to have every road be a toll road and end this nasty socialism. LOL.

Yes, no one is forcing you to use government health care, but that doesn't mean you still don't have to pay for it for everyone else. That's what liberals always leave out. Yeah, just a small detail I guess. The government doesn't work, period. That's what you need to learn. You really think health care will get better with government involved? Really? |
|
|
I accept responsibility for myself. If I get sick and don't have health insurance that is my fault for not pushing myself for a better job. If I become hungry that is my fault for not working hard enough to secure provisions. If I should lose my house that is my fault for not planning more carefully. If the roads I'm driving on fall apart that could be my fault also for not paying county and state taxes. I do not need the federal government to provide for me because I am an American. The harder I work the better I live.

What you don't seem to understand is that it doesn't matter how hard you work or how much money you make if insurance companies are able to charge you anything they want for health insurance. If we were to continue on the path we were on it would not be long until you were being charged 20 grand for an x-ray. Insurance companies can continue to charge outrageous prices and you can continue to pay outrageous prices, once again no one is forcing you or them to do anything. The only thing government healthcare is doing providing healthy competition for these out of control businesses. Of all the oppressive actions of our government your really going to choose healthcare as the one to complain about?

We are not being forced to use government healthcare, you say. I say, we are not being forced to use government healthcare, YET. Notice real good and close the word YET. Don't you understand the words incrementalism, incrementally, a little at a time as the old Stanley Brothers song was titled. Here a little, there a little. This is how socialism works and operates. If they dumped it on us all at one time, we would rebel but socialism has been incrementally creeping up on us and creeping into our political fabric, undermining the U.S. Constitution since 1913. Why do you suppose this president has chosen to bring in his programs by levels in different years. This happens in 2010, this in 2012, this in 2014 and so on and so forth. INCREMENTALISM. This is the only way a people such as the American people would ever accept anything connected with socialism. In any socialist society who runs things? BIG BROTHER, BIG GOVERNMENT. This is the continuation of the ongoing battle between States Righters and Federalists that has been an ongoing battle since the founding of our nation. It's Washington versus Phoenix. It's the federalists in D.C. against the people of Arizona and a huge portion of Americans are saying Arizona is wrong and the federalists on the banks of the Potomac are right. Wait until it comes to your state.

Let me ask you all in Lebanon, Russell County, Southwest Virginia and any other place that is reading this. Is your allegiance to Washington or Richmond? Which in your mind and spirit do you take your marching orders and guidance from, the federal or state government. Make your choice, Richmond or Washington. I am strictly a states righter. I believe the laws of my state take precedence over the federal laws. If the federal law says I can drive 55 on a certain highway while the state law says I can drive 60 on the same highway, my speed limit is 60. When a governor of a state asks for federal help to stop a problem in that state and the federal government refuses to help, I believe it is the right and duty of that governor to do everything possible to protect the citizens of that state and I believe it is the right and duty of every citizen of that state to protect themselves, families, friends, neighbours and community. And I believe the governor of Arizona has the duty to protect her citizens if she and they have to fight the invaders from Mexico, the Mexican Army and the federal troops of Obama, if needs be. And I believe it is so for the 49 states. And if Virginians do not protect their own state by every and any means possible,

One day after Obama signed health care reform Deere and Co., and ATand T are saying millions of dollars are at stake.
To the average person those numbers sound scary. They aren't Allow me to remind you these charges are only estimates. They reflect the elimination of a tax deduction on money the companies receive from the government. They don't represent increased costs, they reflect the end benefit that's been bolstering corporate incomes for the past seven years. Under Obama's law companies can only deduct the 72% they pay themselves, not the amount of the subsidy. Another words they can't double dip any more. Despite the outcry from the no party this shows the negative news from Republicans and naysayers has no merit. In, reality, the accounting issue will have little effect on investors. The charges are noncash, meaning they don't affect operating income, but they do affect a company's bottom line. This should be a lesson to Republicans that the bottom line isn't always what companies say it is. |
Really, that's all it doing? What color is the sky in your world? Thsi may be the dumbest thing anyone has ever said about this whole health care debacle. No wonder people want it, they are just that stupid and ill informed. |

Brian and people like Brian, will continue to complain. Why? They can't be happy paying anything for health care. They want it for free. They think they can afford to go without insurance. Yet when they get sick, they want you to pay for it.
