The Feds haven't done a good job with what they have now,ie; Social Security, Medicare, Stimulus Monies. How do you think they would do with another insurance program
Besides you know it doesn't matter what Obama says, the working middle class will be paying for one way or another.

ahem..
excuse me I am English and stumbled across this forum.

Our health sevice or NHS is free to the point of need I personally find it bloody disgusting that in a civilised society peoples lives depend on money.WE pay for our nhs through taxes and yes there is a lot wrong with it, the hospitals need some TLC but you cannot fault the health care and medicines. I had epilepsy but now do not because I was given neuro surgery, are you lot saying that you are willing to let a member of your society suffer because they cannot pay,? Oh and also the grounds our hospitals stand in are a valuable government assett, also the data gathered over the years about diseases is a valuable resource I now have diabetes and am given the corecct medication and am monitred But my husband works hard and does not begrudge the taxes for the NHS which by the way is not itemised on his wage slip.

YOu see in England we have this thing called principles, whereby some things are more valuable than money

Government has a terrible track record on offering services...Medicare, SSN, Medicaid, Train industry. About all it does right is Defense.

Well isn't that what Obama is trying to do Randy isn't he at least trying to sort the situation out?
You are a generous loveley nation and for the life of me I cannot see why you have this problem about an organised health care system.
I was given neuro surgery at one of the best neuro hospitals in the world in London called Kings College where some of the best surgeons in the world work. A lot of our NHS staff are from abroad because they believe in principles before money Doctors and nurses are after all from the caring profession. Our hospitals are kitted out with the best medical technology as expected from an advanced western civilised nation.
Our NHS is not a form of socialism, it is based on humanitarian principles. IT is true there are no added extra's but basic things like cups of teas and NHS bedwear it is not the HIlton hotel and in no way shape or form is it about euthenasia as I have heard from Miss Pallins? hysterical rant. Why the hell would we provide someone with a Dr. cure them and then sentence them to death what kind of nation do you all think we are??

How's that change working for ya? Last wk. got a sampling of "Obama care" , Stood in line for over hr.for the reg. flu shot , not much H1N1 availble here in Md. But heard on news Obama's kids got their H1N1 shots and Gitmo detainines to get the H1N1 shots. Democrats this week going to ram this health care reform down, also Cap and Trade...you better start calling your representives and letting your voices be heard.

Health care is breaking America because there are not stiff enough guide lines on insurance companies. Many people are unable to afford it.

No Erin, I am not kidding you. Of course there is a price you nit wit.

Let me give you a hypothetical. Let say there was a new virus just discovered and it infected 1,000,000 people. And let's say the only treatment was a heart transplant at a cost of $200,000. Do you really think everyone would get treated? And I will even assume there were enough donor hearts to go around.

Go back to middle school or wherever you came from.

Daily Horoscope for November 28

Sagittarius

You may want to do things on the spur of the moment, but pay attention to detail if you want to avoid unexpected expenses. Even a last-minute decision to go for a bike ride could end up with an injury or a flat tire, so try to think your actions out carefully. Once unpredictable Uranus settles down, you can enjoy a more relaxed attitude towards life. This evening you can let your hair down.
