It isn't health care reform, it's another huge power grab by the government. Talk about tort reform, Rx reimportation to balance global prices, and open competition across state lines, then I'll sign on.

Very simple- first FIX medicare / Medicaid. Once you prove to me that it works, then you can go ahead and do a national health care..but until you can prove that the federal gov. can work efficiently, stay away from my healthcare!

You are so right - and the facts prove it:
Waiting times per NHS guidelines
"The waiting time for an outpatient appointment is the time from when you are referred by your GP, until the consultant's next free appointment. Your GP will advise you about your appointment date.
Current waiting time for an initial outpatient's appointment should be no longer than 13 weeks. Once at the outpatient clinic, you should be seen within 30 minutes of your appointment time.
The waiting time to actually receive hospital treatment can vary depending on your local PCT. However, by the end of 2008, no patient should have to wait longer than 18 weeks for hospital treatment, after referral by their GP."

Wednesday March 25 2009
The NHS has achieved the shortest waiting times since its records began, the Department of Health said today.
It also said it had met its “18 weeks” waiting time target, whereby patients referred from a GP for further treatment start that treatment within 18 weeks. The target became the operational standard for the NHS from January 1 2009. Today’s announcement confirms that the deadline was met. The average wait for treatment for patients admitted to hospital is now just 8.6 weeks. Outpatients waited an average of 4.6 weeks at January 2009, compared to 7.4 weeks at August 2007

Got cancer? Waiting 2 months for treatment is concidered good in the UK. Imagine if you had lung, bladder, colon, or ovarian cancer and they told you to wait 2 months before you start treatment!
62 day target for all cancers
NHS Highland achieved 96.1%. The target is 95% or patients to be in treatment within 62 days. 123 out of 128 patients were in treatment within 62 days of being referred urgently by their GP.
31 day target for breast cancer
NHS Highland achieved 85%
51 out of 60 patients were in treatment within 31 days of being diagnosed. The longest wait was 50 days. 100% of breast cancer patients were in treatment within 62 days of being referred urgently.

What if you have heart disease? No worry, this hospital claims "fast access", beating NHS guidelines
Waiting times for heart procedures at Barts and The London Heart Centre are below the national targets of three months for coronary artery bypass grafts and revascularisation procedures, and six months for all other procedures (cardiology and surgery).
The latest waiting time information is as follows;
CABG (Bypass), average waiting time – 2 months
Angioplasty, average waiting time – 1 month
Heart valve surgery, average waiting time – 3 to 4 months
http://www.bartsandthelondon.nhs.uk/heartcent...
(their mortality rate after surgery is low as most will die before even getting to the operating table - this is of course, not considered into their statistics). I myself have known patient with heart disease who needed a CABG - they told the man to go home lay in bed and have his wife bring him food in bed, and not move until they called for an appointment in a few days.
Now...for the taxes...
This is what we are looking to get with Obama's plan
Look at chart from the NY Post (http://www.nypost.com/seven/07162009/photos/n... ) and see how the proposed health care plan is going to affect those that live in New York. Although the tax rates of individual states vary, the point is the same. We will all pay more in taxes under this proposed health care plan. And, that is not saying anything about the effects it will have on your actual health care and insurance. If you haven't contacted your senators and congressmen, consider doing so now.

There are better ways to reform the healthcare issue. Let all insurance companies compete, not with the government. No socialized medicine.

People, just kick ass and vote in 2010. Send a message. The message we are sending with just our voices is beign ignored. I have never in my life seen such arrogance coming from a sitting President, and boy howdy, Presidents are at the top of the list of arrogant. B.O. is a menace. TAKE HIS POWER and VOTE REPUBLICAN in 2010. It goes without saying how to vote in 2012...that is if the United States is still standing under this fraud. HE SUCKS!!!!
Not duped by Obama

Everything the government runs is a mess. DMV, Cash for Clunkers, public schools, etc. Why would we trust them with our health care? Also, the fraud passed by the Democrats doesn't take effect for 5 years.

Daily Horoscope for January 4

Pisces

Family, friends and in-laws are all hard to please. It is better to please yourself for once, dear Pisces, than to bang your head against a wall. You need to relax and get in touch with your own feelings. Do not hesitate to speak up for someone you care about. Someone may try to curtail your freedom. Set them straight and do not give in.
