Health Care Debate - Gainesville, FL

obama is having this transparent change behind closed doors and it is obvious he is not interested in the ISSUES of security for our great nation, he wants total control......this he will not have.

Putting people in jail for not having health insurance ?? The cost is outrageous: " I won't raise taxes on people making over $200,000". It's about being in control, not about saving money or helping people.

If we don't do health care then: too expensive to run SO/HO and large corps, no plan what to do for all the humans being treated as the bottom line for an insurance middle-man company, and known consequence that USA will continue to trail the rest of the industrialized world. Being a capitalist does not make you an American. We fight for the needy, the oppressed, the hungry, for human rights - find me a corp/lobbyist that does that, they are not America.

too much is unknown about the plan; there is no real plan for healthcare, it seems they (some politicians in DC) want to throw a bill together just to say they did pass "healthcare reform" and have something in place to go with (better something than nothing); it will destroy capitalist insurance companies that will provide better healthcare options; it will limit medical care (ration it); right now we can choose what services we want and whether or not to have them - this bill will take those individual choices away and many, especially the elderly will lose out simply because they are older and most likely closer to death; we have no idea how it will affect the individual right to be in control of their own healthcare needs --- someone else in DC will be making the decision on whether or not you can have that procedure or not; currently individuals have protection through consent to know what's going on and how to proceed through treatment - if this healthcare plan passes, their is NO individual ownership of one's medical care/treatment, it will be dictated to you

It will never work!!!! The Government should not control health care!! The middle class will suffer and they will pay for all health care. The elderly will lose care and benefits. Nobody knows what this bill will eventually cover.

Obama is driven by his humongous ego. He doesn't care about the contents of a health bill, he just wants to pass one. Anything, no mastter how bad. He just wants to be able to say he did it. His ego.

He is a big bag of wind. He speaks well but he is just not presidential material. His lack of experience is painfully evident. He takes months to make a decision.

He might have made a good president had he garnered 15 more years of experience but he will go down in history as a failure.

If he manages to bribe enough people to get his health care package passes he will go down in history as an even bigger failure. He is a zero.

The saddest part of it all is that he will wrongfully blame his failure on people being racist. He won't man up and accept the blame for his failure.

A Christian minister said Tuesday that he will go ahead with plans to burn copies of the Quran this weekend to protest the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks despite a warning from the top U.S. general in Afghanistan that doing so would endanger American troops.

The action of burning the Qurans itself is despicable and warrants harsh criticism from everyone across the political spectrum. But, where are all the voices from the right who used to ask "How high?" any time Petraeus said "jump."

The Qur'an-burner turns out to be a wacko into 'spiritual abuse', neither representative of Christianity for real nor worth the press time the media is giving him.

I think that the Qu'ran burning in Florida is atrocious. Even more atrocious is the medias pathological insistence on covering it.

The news keeps talking about some dude down in Florida who is going to burn a bunch of crayons. Can somebody please explain to me the controversy behind this? Something about Mausoleums and a Seven-11.

I'm a baby boomer, and I agree with RU. However I don't play the boomer game. I play the trend game. Tell me the rules and I'll play the game. I like to be the dealer, they always win.
