I am 100% disabled and retired from Gilman Paper Co ... to keep just my wife and I on COBRA would have cost 800+ a month and did not include my daughter now 12 who after cuts in the childrens health programs has been uninsured for the last 6 years ... I purchased insurance for her at 250 a month then when I tried to use it 6 months later they said that that her condition was not covered yet when setting the policy up I specifically asked about that type coverage and was assured it was covered thus the insurance industry recieved 1500 that I could not truly afford with absutely no return ..... yes the insurance companies need competition in the form of a public option.

Sure there needs to be reform in the Health Insurance industry. However, the Government does not need to be in the health insurance business, nor the auto business, nor the banking business. I think we are headed down a slippery slope here.

I know the United States Constitution pretty well. Remember, the Constitution is the highest authority in the land, superior to any law, Congress, the Supreme Court, or the President. There is nothing higher.

Now, nowhere in the constitution does it grant Congress the right to control the US health care system. Nowhere. In fact, it does not have the right to control any industry.

The 10th amendment says that any powers not granted to congress are reserved for the states or people. This means that while Florida might be able to legislate it's own health plan, it is ILLEGAL for the feds to do so!

Beyond that, the current plan it too expensive, will likely wreck our health system, and represents an huge grab for power by the feds. Last time they tried to grab this much power was the New Deal.

Nothing changed. We needed to have the economey issues put at the head of the table. Most of the people that don't have health care are ones that don't want to pay for it or ones that are here illeagly. This adminastration has been a big disapointment.
One way or another they are in our pockets and expect us to pay for everyone else. I think 2010 will let them know we have had enough and will put the incumbents out to pasture.

Daily Horoscope for December 16

Scorpio

If you're concerned about finding the cash for what usually turns out be an expensive month, the New Moon is the time to start on a budget or some other financial strategy. Try talking to an expert during the coming fortnight, or simply decide to cut down on your expenses. Don't spend so much on presents this year.
