Health Care Debate - Emigrant, MT
Discuss the national Health Care debate in Emigrant, MT.
Do you support President Obama's health care policy?
Since: Oct 11
I'm not supporting someone who really does not seem to ne helping our country. Maybe he should learn to put some effort into being president as much as he does his golf and going on all his vacations
There are many ways to assess President Bush's eight years in office. Countless hours of broadcast time and tons of newsprint are being consumed in that pursuit these days.
And you can agree or not with what's being said and written.
It's difficult for any of us to convey an objective assessment of the Bush presidency - but numbers come close to offering a bit of unbiased insight.
So here - in no particular order - are some of the numbers that mark the record of the 43rd President of the United States. When no source is cited, the numbers are from the tallies I maintained during day-to-day coverage of President Bush.

The red shows the growing job losses by month from the end of 2007 through January of 2009. There were over 4.5 million jobs lost during that period, all of which occurred BEFORE President Obama took office. And the trend was getting worse, big time.
The blue shows the job losses AFTER Obama took office on January 20, 2009. Immediately the number of jobs lost started to decrease (we even got a job increase in November 2009). Obviously there is more work to be done. But considering that the economy was racing downhill into what economists say was a likely depression rivaling the "Great Depression" of the 1930s, the current administration has clearly put us the right track toward recovery. Since jobs are a lagging indicator, meaning that private industry (you know, the "free market") likes to put money in the bank before they hire new people and so job growth always takes a while to catch up to the recovered economy.
It would be nice if this graphic had been displayed at the tea party convention this weekend, the one where everyone is complaining about being "taxed enough already" despite the fact that likely 100% of the attendees got a tax break in 2009 from President Obama and the stimulus package.
Need another graphic? How about this one from Business Insider that shows the economy is creating jobs again!
Another terrorist dead, the Pan AM deaths avenged. Thank you President Obama for making the world a safer place. Another murderous tyrant from the Middle East taken out, this time without the loss of a single American life. Again thank you President Obama. As Commander In Chief you have taken on two wars and managed to expand the fight taking out our enemies. In just 3 years you have taken the fight to our enemy wherever they attempt to run and hide, killing them in short order. It is a sad state in our country however, as Republicans cheer a Governor who has executed more innocent people in his state than any other, cheer the death of a 30 year old man because he has no insurance, and boo an American soldier who defends their way of life, safety freedoms and all.
Ru says it right, everyone should listen.
Facts are facts, no smoke and mirrors.
Ru is about facts, and conservatives that deny facts, are only making fools of themselves.
