Thank goodness you have removed Mimi’s editorial from Topix as soon as possible. It is nice to see Topix being responsible when someone tells their side of the story while leaving out half the story. Her editorial was very deceptive and misleading as she did not state that only the wealthy dorm freshmen students (1,900) receive drug prevention while the off campus freshmen (2,000) do not. Mimi does not provide substance abuse to the entire freshmen class as her editorial would lead you to believe good job ER for removing it from Topix

How would those who have insurance feel if they suddenly didn't have it? I am a nurse and see the suffering out there.

Insurance companies are just like the oil companies!...Who Us? NO! We're not making ANY money! ka-ching! ka-ching! ka-ching!
We could believe that if they stopped posting record profits.
I just think we should make a really big insurance pool--the sized of the country. That'd fix them.
National health care is about the consumer having choices. By paying having the option to pay into a big national size plan we could use our combined clout for service.
My guess is insurance companies could compete to process claims to/from this national insurance. It does not need to be an everything plan. But it should cover basics. Use private insurance for perks ... 2 person or one person room. Newer drugs and procedures. Rather like the various Medi-gap plans that seniors or their retirement benefits currently provide.
It also needs to have some basic dental care of check-ups, cleanings, fillings and tooth removals. Set an annual cost limit and some set prices for the basic costs. Do not cover any crowns, root canals, or dentures etc under this plan - also filling materials etc that are above the basic - but let those be extra options to buy from private industry.
This would help in places like Chico and rural communities that cannot get serviced by many of the lower costing plans available in metro areas. Location in medical coverage is critical service availability.

I support a Public Option, and I totally support Universal Health Care, you know, like all the other civilized nations have today. I DO NOT know what this new plan is, with some 1900 pages of c r a p and pork barrel sillyness. Neither the Democrats or Republicans really want Health care reform or a public option what they seem to want is to ignore the people and just continue to support the BIG MONEY health care industry.

I have no idea what they are, they change every five minutes. I do support his public option, but Obama changes his mind every few minutes

I will do anything to stop socialism this current administration is trying to shove down our throats. It's just one step closer to one world government. It's a cancer eating up our liberties & freedoms. Taxation without representation is un-constitutional. We as the people of the U.S. are not being represented here at all. We are being forced into this healthcare debacle with NO freedom of choice!

The Dem's are throwing this health bill at us just so they can get something passed and then make it even worse trying to fix it afterwords. In the mean time WE all pay dearly for this new toy they want to play with. As far a the Repu's are concerned they really don't care. Actually they want it to pass so in 3 years they can reap the house floor with Repu's coming in after every single Dem is voted out then. But by then we'll have China over here collecting their collateral from the loans they gave us. And who's to say we'll all be under marshal law by then too, thanks to Pres. Obama, after he get's through dumbing-down America to nothing. Say hello to the new world order! IT'S HERE PEOPLE!
