A startling fact is that carbohydrates are not responsible for making people fat. Don't feel too badly though, you are not the only person who was sold on the idea that a high protein, low carb diet was the only way to lose weight.
it is important to realize that it costs the body quite a bit of energy to take carbs and store them as fat.

Things are troubling; however it is not a result of the last 3+ years. It is truly Reganomics and Voodoo Trickle Down Economics.

We rank 45 in literacy. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countrie...

Our education level is at 20. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Education_Index

And the republicans pray for the continued decline. As evidence, Mr. Wolfe points to a new poll by Washington Post/ABC News that found that white people without a college degree favor John McCain, the Republican candidate, by 17 percentage points, while those with a college degree prefer Barack Obama, the Democratic candidate, by 9 percentage points. Once upon a time, political scientists could look at a voter’s income and history of church attendance and predict how he or she would vote in a presidential election. Working-class voters, the conventional wisdom went (and polls confirmed) tended to vote Democratic, while churchgoers trended Republican.

15 of the top 20 most Democrat-leaning states are also 15 of the top 20 best educated states. Three of the remaining five best educated states are repeat offender swing states. I understand the connection between Utah, Mormonism, and higher education, but like Thomas Frank, I can't help but wonder how Kansas joined Utah as on of the only two statistical outliers in the education/democrat correlation.

Any way, ATS, I respect a lot of opinions here, and I'm really hoping for some thoughtful insight from all relevant perspectives. But I'll admit I'm more than a bit worried that this could nose dive into Red vs. Blue thread, and while there's more than a twinge of implication in this data, I'm hoping we can all be civil in its handling.

It should come as no surprise that most educated voters have moved towards the Democratic Party considering the increasing anti-intellectualism in the GOP. As Republicans lost the battle of ideas, they lost the support of educated voters.

But like Forrest Gump said … so drink the tea and watch faux news.

List of countries by life expectancy and we are 38.

Yet we spend more on health care than any other country.

Not about Obama, about the bill and its improvements. Educate yourself

Daily Horoscope for June 3

Gemini

Do a little lateral thinking today and it will work wonders. Don't feel hidebound because you're supposed to do things in a certain way, because this is a great opportunity to try a different approach for a change. Even so, you may have to play down your unorthodox technique when talking to anyone who sticks rigidly to convention.
