Aurora shooting victim could face $2 million in medical bills because of lack of health insurance

15% of Americans are uninsured.
Source: http://www.census.gov/prod/2008pubs/p60-235.p...
6 out of 10 bankruptcies are due to medical bills. 75% of those were people who were insured at the time. 38% of those lost coverage during the time they filed for bankruptcy... meaning half still had insurance and had to file bankruptcy due to medical bills.
Sources: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2009/06/05/ear... and http://www.consumeraffairs.com/news04/2005/ba... and http://www.cnn.com/2009/HEALTH/06/05/bankrupt...
More money is spent on PRIVATE health care per person yearly in the US, more than any other country in this world....($7,290 US, Switzerland:$4,417)
Sources: http://www.iedm.org/uploaded/pdf/juin05_en.pd... and http://www.who.int/whosis/whostat/2009/en/ind... and http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons... and http://ucatlas.ucsc.edu/health/spend/LEvsSpen...
Despite spending nearly twice as much per person for health care and failing to cover everyone in the process... we rank right with CUBA. "The USA's life expectancy lags 42nd in the world, after most rich nations, lagging last of the G5 (Japan, France, Germany, UK, USA) and just after Chile (35th) and Cuba (37th)."

To put the above item into further perspective. We have a lower life expectancy of those in Cuba but we spend more than 18 times on average per person on health care than they do.
US Spending on health care is estimated to be 16%(Average) of the US GDP.

What exactly are we paying for? Higher rates for substandard care and insufficient coverage to benefit a for-profit system.

Do you have a problem with social care? Do you even know what socialism means? Try using both sides of your brain, things might become clear.

that polls shows how many fools are in america.

excuse me-but i take it you have health insurance. probably from your employer--Well their going to deem you uninsurable, and you will have to take government insurance,i dont know what you pay now, but its going to cost you a min. of $3000.00. 2nd- say these words with me "ration care" that means what ever problem you have. its because you did not prevent it. Now sitting at the clinic, you will sitting beside some dude or woman that your paying for their
care because they pay notthin!! and they will see the doctor first
before you do. when you see the doctor ,he's going to tell you
that he's stopping your medicine, because you did not pay for their
recommend therapy center ,that wants $5000.00 for the service, because the government know how much money you have in the bank. Man, Wake Up America!!!!!!

I wasn't talking to you "FOOL". Before you open your mouth, maybe you should look up the word socialism. Romania is not an example of true socialism, it's more like a dictatorship. If your going to argue this point look it up "FOOL".

To PresKenyanMuslum:

Here is an example of true socialism, which I'm sure you particpate in. Your home loan. You wouldn't have a home if it wasn't for the government buying back the loan. Do you think an investor wants to loan hundreds of thousands of dollars at interest rates of 3 and 4 percent for 15 to 30 years. The risk would be to high. Private investors have better places to place their money. However, Fannie, or Freddie will buy the loan from the investor. That's called socialism. I bet you like that "FOOL". Why don't you learn the difference between dictatorship and socialism.

Daily Horoscope for May 21

Cancer

Take care because it's a rather downbeat day. You feel as though you have the cares of the world on your shoulders, and maybe you have. You've certainly got to cope with a lot of responsibility and duty, and there could also be delays and disappointments that need to be negotiated. Yes, it's a fairly miserable day but try to rise above it, otherwise you'll soon start to feel really wretched and sorry for yourself.
