There are things about it that "sound" good but too many other things that don't.

Obama needs to stay OUT of MY health care. The government has the reputation of ruining, raping and running things into the ground. Why in the hell do they think this program will be any different. There will be the people in congress that will line their pockets. There will be incompetent employees, because they will be "hand picked" by the government. Illegals will be privy to our tax payer paid health care.
Who knows; maybe Obama will hire on Van Jones to head this up. NO NO NO GOVERNMENT HEALTHCARE. Leave me and my family alone!

I agree with you. It is so heartbreaking to hear of cases where someone cannot get health insurance due to job loss, etc., and loose everything they have when a health crisis hits. I know of a case where a lady with good insurance developed cancer and was told she had spent her life-time limit. Hey people, we never know when this can be us. I have medicare which I think is a very good program with a military backup coverage. This is great--but will it always be? This can always be changed. So just because someone thinks they have it great now, this does not mean you always will.

Yes, let's pray for our Country and let's pray for a health care plan that works. Right now the people winning or the big insurance companies who do not want to loose their hold on the wealth.

1. It's socialism pure & simple. It's another way for democrats to support those who won't support themselves or their families.
2. Joe Wilson was right. Obama is a liar; now the idiot wants to legalize all of the illegal aliens currently in country so that they would be able to receive tax payer funded health care.
3. Obama & Cronies still won't give straight answers regarding how & when & who is going to end up paying for all of these social expiraments!
4. He, Pelosi & their ilk lack any common sense! You can't just keep robbing Peter to pay Paul! China practically owns this country all ready!

This is not socialism.
What part of this whole thing ISN'T socialism? "Socialism refers to various theories of economic organization advocating public or direct worker ownership and administration of the means of production and allocation of resources, and a society characterized by equal access to resources for all individuals with an egalitarian method of compensation. In Marxist theory, socialism is a transitional phase between capitalism and communism characterized by unequal distribution of wealth and compensation according to work done.[1][2][3] Contrary to popular belief, socialism is not a political system; it is an economic system distinct from capitalism."

I want less government intervention into our lives, and more responsibility from people. This entitlement, freeloader mentality has got to cease.

you are right, AA! the freeloader mentality is also the same as people like bob brutyn who feel they deserve a $1,450,000 home in ABQ while the one he left behind in novato sits in short sale with over $600,000 taken off the price since july. THIS IS NOT RESPONSIBLE! IT IS WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS COUNTRY! thank you AA for your intelligent posts.

I agree. I believe we need to do something but don't agree that a Marxist style healthcare reform is the answer---not by a long shot. I know there are no EASY answers but just feel this hasn't had enough time to be hammered out and I , for one, do nto want to support Obama's urgency to hurry up and get this passed just so he can run around feeling proud that he has a feather in his cap. It's not a good or permanent fix that benefits the greater majority.

Yes, it is---and one that typically goes hand in hand with Marxism/Communism. No thanks.

If this health care thing doesn't work out, we can modify it. We have to do something to control this out of control industry.

I've seen too many people devastated by lack of access to health care. Those that oppose it change pretty quickly when serious illness affects them.

You Obama-haters are thinly-veiled racists. The only problem you have is paying more taxes? What do you think you're paying when people are langushing? At least our taxes would go to paying for helping people, instead of supporting war.
