I "get" what Nytshade is saying. I also know that the world is an unstable place right now. We seem to be tottering on a precipice......it wouldn't take much for the world as we know it to change. Even a major blackout, like what is happening in India as we speak, could throw this country into complete chaos. A major terrorist attack, a huge natural disaster.....we are very vulnerable. People turn ugly at these times. They will take what they don't have. If a person isn't prepared to defend their family and what they have, they are a sheep to the wolves. As the saying goes, and especially this applies to guns, better to have and not need than to need and not have.

If you are a responsible, law abiding citizen, then there is no reason that you shouldn't have access to whatever you feel you would need to protect your home and family. It's that simple. It's not paranoia, it's not fanatical.......it's being prepared for the worst case scenario while not hurting anyone else in the process. It's called being a survivor. I don't know about you, but that's the line I want to be in :)

1973 Supreme Court decision, Roe v. Wade, legalized abortion by a 7-2 vote. Six of the seven justices in the majority were Republican appointees. The only Democrat appointee, Byron White, voted against Roe v. Wade.

In fact, in every year since 1969, the United States Supreme Court has been controlled by a majority of Republican-appointed judges. There has not been a Democrat-appointed Chief Justice since 1953

<quoted text>it's a domestic threat when one of your boys aint in power. It's the law of the land when one is. I served my country when I joined the military when I was 18. And as far as I am concerned YOU are a domestic threat. Do you really need a 50cal? Do you really need a RPG? To me, when people start stockpiling these weapons it only means that they intend to kill their fellow Americans. To me this is treason.
So who cares about your "feelings" unless you have the force to back them up?

So.. another gun coward. Back in the day we settled our differences with our dukes like men. Is that what you are. A gun coward. I saw lots of them in the South. They lose a fight fair and square and they run to their trucks and get their gun. I swear..what would some people do without their guns. I'll tell you what...get punked.

Gun Dog beat me to it. If all that worries you is such then don't worry because both are outlawed in NYS. If you people would actually do your homework before spewing the same crap you'd know all NFA items which for you means machine guns, short barreled rifles and such are illegal and that NYS has their own assault weapon ban in place!

I don't. When I was a kid in Watertown we had a Mom and Pop store on every corner. That's what we need again. It shouldn't take an arm and a leg to open up your own little retail store. Wal-Mart sucks. Always has. Always will. Wal-Mart is part of what's wrong with America.

Don't worry about other people buying Red China products.Just don't do it yourself.Avoid the herd mentality. Our forefathers didn't create the greatest country in the world and write one of the greatest documents of all times, just so we could be indebted to a regime that runs counter to everything they believed in.Stand up and be counted, even if it isn't made in America, you can still purchase the same products that are not made in China, and have a democratic government.S.Korea and Japan being prime examples. They are both democracies.

We want the liberty that the founders of this country were willing to kill the King's men to get. Why should we allow the police or the FBI or the NSA or the CIA or the ATF or the DEA, or the DHS or the FDA or the TSA or the NTSB to try to take that liberty away from us without taking a few of them out?

i believe the police are necessary because the we would revert back to the wild west. Everybody would have freedoms sure. But... vigilante justice would prevail and there would be lynch mobs everywhere. The cops are necessary because without them there would be anarchy. And if I was you..I'd be careful about how I put my words.

Jefferson observed, "Happy for us, that when we find our constitutions defective and insufficient to secure the happiness of our people, we can assemble with all the coolness of philosophers and set it to rights, while every other nation on earth must have recourse to arms to amend or to restore their constitutions." In response to his oft cited "tree of life" quotation, that is used quite often.

Here's my favorite quote of Thomas Jefferson done by JFK

...probably the greatest concentration of talent and genius in this house except for perhaps those times when Thomas Jefferson ate alone.
John F. Kennedy, Describing a dinner for Nobel Prize winners, 1962
35th president of US 1961-1963 (1917 - 1963)

Both JFK and Thomas Jefferson understood what a great country America is for it's people.

I can agree with that, but I'd have to include my all time favorite,Honest Abe.There's just something about him,of humble beginnings, self educated, losing his house seat because he stood on principals and opposed the Mexican War,becoming a great lawyer, then outsmarting everybody at every turn and winning the presidency and eventually the civil war.

Daily Horoscope for May 21

Gemini

A little give and take goes a long way, so try to be flexible and malleable when dealing with others. It will also pay to ask people what they think rather than to make sweeping assumptions on their behalf, because you could be in for a surprise. A child may have some interesting information for you, or they could make a statement that really sets you thinking.
