If you ban the right to bear arms, only law abiding citizens will be unarmed. Criminals will continue to break the law and get guns off the black market.

If guns are going to be banned because they "kill" people then knives, ropes, and chainsaws need to be banned as well... Guns, knives, ropes, and chainsaws do NOT kill people. Criminals kill people. Law abiding citizens obey the law and use guns to hunt and or protect.

There are enough laws on the books. The idea that there needs to be another law to deal with a specific tradgedy is ludicris. IF someone is intent on doing harm to others they will find a way to do so, the knee jerk reaction to every one of these tradgedies overlooks the fact that laws have created zones that make it easier for someone to carry out his plans to harm people, if anything there should be laws removed that keep honest people from protecting themselves and our government needs to start dealing with the real problems at hand, ie. the budget, and stop holding investigations into weather Roger Clemens took steroids, if it was illegal then it should have been a criminal matter, if it was against the MLB Rules then they should have dealt with it. But this makes for good press and takes attention away from the fact that they are doing nothing other than trying to get reelected.
