No, they don't need to reform their gun laws, the need to simply ENFORCE them! That's the problem!

Yes our gun laws need reformed? No one should ever ever need to own a fully automatic assault weapon period.
By the way I am an avid hunter and do just fine with my semi automatic weapon!!!

Fully automatic weapons have been largely banned since the 1930's.

Gun laws only affect law abiding citizens not the crimmals that misuse them.

Functionally, there is no difference at all except looks between what people refer to as an assault weapon and a deer rifle. Except the average deer rifle is better made and more accurate. Cracks me up that we're talking about banning looks.

We need fewer regulations on automatic weapons, and the background checks need to stop. It's none of the government's business what guns I own.

No your logic is ignorant as well as just plain stupid. I have been collecting guns for well over 15 years and own several class III weapons. I enjoy shooting them as well as it is my right to own them. Its your right to voice your idiotic opinions. Numerous people know i have them in my possession and i cannot think of one person who would fear me having them. Law abiding citizens shouldn't be cracked down on because they cant keep guns out of the hands of criminals. If you want to battle on the whole "laws of guns" I can school your ass all day long.

only insecure people own assault weapons and that is because they are scared. How would you like to be a relative or parent to someone who was killed in an attack like the one that just happened In Colorado? I say ban all assault weapons period and even
semi - automatic weapons should be banned. Now show me your logic!

Bottom line is nobody wants to take the guns you have, if you haven't committed felonies and are a responsible person you can still buy more, and if you want to get a fully automatic triple scoped double lazered shotgun you can!
The system clearly isn't working and needs changed. Between unrestricted private sales, and lack of proper enforcement there are just too many ways for crazies to get their hands on a broomstick.
In the words of Chris Rock " they should make bullets cost 10000 dollars. Then when people get shot, people will just be like damn he must have f@cked somebody over real good. There's at least 50000 dollars in that guy."

you still feel the same way? Did you just See what happened in Wisconsin?? And you still don't think we need background checks and a ban on assault weapons????

Outrage is no substitute for rational argument, and the response urged by the Brady Campaign—a petition demanding that Congress keep guns away from "convicted felons," "convicted domestic abusers," "terrorists," and "people found to be dangerously mentally ill"—had nothing to do with what happened in Aurora. As far as we know, James Holmes, the 24-year-old former neuroscience graduate student arrested for the murders, has no criminal record, no links to terrorist groups, and no history that would have disqualified him from owning guns.

Other gun control advocates focused on the AR-15 rifle used by Holmes, a civilian, semi-automatic version of the M-16. Depending on the details of its design, it might have been covered by the federal "assault weapon" ban that expired in 2004. But such legislation targets guns based mainly on their military appearance, as opposed to features that make a practical difference in the commission of crimes (a purpose for which they are rarely (as in statistically insignificant) used). It is hard to see how the presence or absence of a bayonet mount, a threaded barrel, or a collapsible stock, for instance, matters much for a man shooting unarmed moviegoers in a darkened theater.

Holmes also had large-capacity magazines: one holding 100 rounds for the rifle (which reportedly jammed) and one holding 40 rounds for his .40-caliber Glock pistol. But reinstating the federal ban on magazines holding more than 10 rounds would have no impact on a determined killer, since many millions of larger magazines are already in circulation. Even if all of them disappeared tomorrow, switching magazines (or weapons) takes just a few seconds—probably not a crucial consideration when no one is shooting back.
