The most clearly written, easily understood part of the US Constitution is the Second Amendment.

SHALL NOT INFRINGE.

The Supreme Court has deemed the right to protect your own life as the most basic, essential human right of all.

All your other rights are useless without your right to self preservation.

The only right that allows you to do that is the Second.

If you don't have the votes to amend it (and you don't)
This conversation is meaningless.

Reading about the people shot in that theater broke my heart
especially the kids.

But that tragedy tells me MORE people should be exercising their Second Amendment right to defend their own life.

You just can't shoot 70 people if even one of them is on equal footing with you.

This guy chose a venue that did not allow firearms for a reason,
easy prey.

As a matter of fact, ALL the places this kind of thing has happened have been under weapon bans,
Fort Hood, Colombine, Virginia Tech,
All gun free zones.

Guns were already banned in that theater,
but it didn't stop that maniac.
It just stopped the law abiding people there from defending themselves.

Why would anyone think a larger gun ban would have stopped him?

Last point,
this guy;
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bath_School_disa...

Killed 44 people, including 38 Michigan elementary school kids,
without shooting anyone.

Taking away all the guns won't stop criminals.

Desperate criminals will always find a gun,
or a different way to commit vicious crimes & murder.

I think movie theaters and any large buildings holding many people should be forced to have security. They should know that cowards prey on people who are defenseless.

Says it all.

The theater's anti-gun rule only stopped the victims who followed the rules.
New rules & laws wont stop deranged psychopaths.

Unless we're ready to ban everything that shoots, blows up, or burns.
