<quoted text>Louiston, i prefer the liberty of going to a public place withput being shot at. I imagine if you were able to ask those who were shot and killed last friday, they'd say the same thing.
Like has already been said, guns don't kill, people do. I read a news article last week that said the Swiss government issues a gun to all of it's citizens. AND since this has been in effect, the crime rate decreased dramatically. Think DETERENT! Law abiding citizens only use them when they have to! For self defense! Even if guns are totally banned, criminals will find a way to get them! And the law abiding people will be left DEFENSELESS!

Yes, i'd be for more laws but thats not going to solve anything. I'm for an outright ban on all guns, no exceptions. Have only law enforcement and other authorized agencies have them.
Or, as a good first step, either have a complete and total ban on ammunition, or raise the price to, say,$200.00 per cartridge, shell or whatever it is they're called.
This is the most ignorant post I have ever read on topix.

No matter what reforms are made, criminals don't follow the law. Gun law reforms only affect law abiding citizens.

When bad men break into my little grandson GW's house he's all like "hey, get out of here or I'll tickle your feet with my mankini", they drop their weapons and run for the door.

Second. All through history the government trying to ban anything has been a miserable failure resulting in the banned item becoming even more prolific. Prohibition, failed. Every drug that has been controlled or banned is running the streets like free flowing water. I could go on but must I?
Banning guns is stupid on its face to any reasonably sentient being that hasnt lived in a silk lined closet all their life.
Fact. The government has never and will never be able to ban anything and make it realistically stick. Criminals will get what they want in great quantities and make a lot of money doing it once something is banned.
Fact The police 99 percent of the time are a after the fact clean up crew that tries to obtain justice for victims that need not have been victims except they were obeying a gun law when the criminal that took their life wasnt obeying any law. Justice may make the victims family feel better but it does not breathe life back into the victim.
Last indisputable fact. A person that is the victim of a violent crime has one person to count on to the defend them at the time the crime is occuring. Themselves. Not Obama, the police, their neighbor, bystanders or The Avengers, only themselves. If they are armed and prepared then they are capable of saving their own life. If not, well thats their decision.
