Not to mention that most criminals obtain their firearms illegally anyways so all it does is take the guns out of the hands of law abiding citizens.

Since it is now a legal precidence that the government can make a law and tax you if you do not abide by it. Congress can now mandate that every american over the age of 18 must own a gun. If you choose not to, you can simply pay a tax......
