i am an older woman who lives in town. There are a lot of drugs and people who will come in whether any one is home or not. I will protect myself from criminals meaning harm or think they can take what they want!!!!!!!!

It's called the 2nd Amendment, along with 200 years of prior law that directly contradicts the disarming of anyone unless they are currently under legal punishment or mentally ill, from the Gun Control Act of 1968 til today, every, single firearms restriction passed by the Federal Govt, is a CRIME against the people of the United States.

I wouldn't worry about anything this government attempts to do at this point, there won't be a U.S. much longer.

The government will have a battle on their hands. If the government takes our guns, for which we have done legally according to law, only the criminals will have guns. It will be chaos if this happens. Everyone has a right to protect ourselves and our property. At this time with economy like it is more robberies and burgularies are happening. Home invasions up. World very sad place to live.

well quebert.. i havent given up that much on our country. there is still a lot going for it.. we have just got to the point where minority rules instead of majority. i hope i dont live to see the end of our great nation. i do agree that we are seriously going in the wrong direction.

I may have missed something, but I haven't heard any serious gun control speak in years and certainly nothing here in Kentucky -- ever. The fact that the Supreme Court recently shot down an Chicago's attempt to limit hand guns should have gone a long way to assuring you folks that your guns are safe. This paranoia that "The Government" is out to get you is unfounded and just plain sad. Grow up and do something constructive with your lives instead of dwelling on outlandish things that will never happen.

Sadly, I can no longer agree. The only real threat to our freedoms IS the United States of America.

This is laughable. There's no way in hell that THIS household will be handing over our constitutional right to bear arms responsibly.

There is no chance that this would pass in Kentucky, as we wouldn't stand for it. Kentuckians know a simpler way of life. We still retain the old fashioned values, with a sense of worth and pride. We're not easily biased by what we're told and don't swallow everything that is fed to us like a caged animal. Specially since 911 and the mistrust we are developing in our governmental body itself.

What are the elected mouthpieces in charge going to throw at us next, a moratorium on growing our own food? Raising our own livestock? How we use our private land for our own personal sustenance and survival? They've already intruded enough and the American people as a whole are getting tuned in to it and paying more attention than ever...

Like I said, laughable..

They just change tactics, they are now talking about banning lead as a EPA hazard other materials would be cost prohibitive. So you can not let down your guard even slightly. The Supreme court was a 5 to 4 vote, this is not over by a long shot. Guns will not be of much use without ammo.

No one is trying to subvert your constitutional rights, but if you prefer to believe rumors and nonsense, so be it. Besides it's a lot easier to spout silly bravado instead of doing something constructive to advance your cause.

It's my right that many many people gave there lives for. Also I've had trouble before without a handgun I don't know if I would still be here to tell the story.
