If handguns are banned for the law-abiding homeowner then the criminal will have no fear invading the home of his choice. Home invasions will become the rule rather than the exception.

The 2nd amendment was created in a the 18th century, the world was a different place back then.

In the 21st century guns only belong in the hands of military and law enforcement. Period

The 1st amendment was created at the same time. So you are saying that only military and law enforcement should have those rights also?

No more laws! How about we start getting rid of some old laws, instead we keep adding so many of them you can barely take a sh*t with out breaking one of them. STOP empowering these crooked cops and our filthy rich government! We can police ourselves if weasels and worms would man up in there own community and hold order themselves without calling a cop who only worsens the problem. We should all carry guns then respect will be as common as wiping you’re a*s. POWER UP!

Although I am no a gun man myself, I support the right given to us in the constitution. As even George Washington said every man was to have a rifle and handgun. We were expected to bring our own guns if called on in case of war.

I'm not saying its okay to carry them around, and I don't think anyone with a criminal history should be aloud to have one. But on the other hand, why not for protection? Especially living in south philly I don't see a problem.

Why are you not saying they're okay to carry around? Why should anyone that served their sentence be not able to defend themselves? Do you believe in double jeopardy?

As long as a person has been trained in their use, they should have the right to protect themselves as they see necessary.

The 2nd Amendment says nothing about "training" in order to exercise that right. What other rights and liberties would you demand that people have to be trained in before they can exercise?

People don't hunt with handguns, they kill people. In many parts of our city, youths and innocent bystanders are dying at an alarming rate. It's been shown that people who carry handguns are more likely to become victims of violence.

Wrong Marian. I brought down two Black Bear on hunting trips with a handgun.
Guns don't kill people. They are often used to defend lives. Do you have a problem with that?

Really? Where has that been shown? Do you have a link to a credible cite for that?

If you ban guns only criminals will have them. They don't care if guns are legal or not. I believe more good people should carry guns. It would make criminals wonder who was gonna shoot back and who wouldn't.
