in a nation with 200 million + guns already on the street, any "ban" attempt would be nothing but a joke that only affects law-abiding citizens, who aren't the ones you need to worry about in the first place.

It's funny, we are never asked if we oppose crooked politicians. Why not get rid of the ones that cause all of the opposition on freedom

The right to defend yourself from others is the basis for the second amendment. England tried to take the arms and gunpowder to stop the rebellion. I do hope that history is still being taught in schools. nothing like a revisionist history to change a view.

Anyone read the Constitution lately?

Bad people will find a way to get guns. Taking them away from people that use them for protection is just enabling the criminals. Dont be dumb.

It is my constitutional right to carry a handgun if I have a permit & license.
The Patriot act thinks they can override our constitution. This will never happen.

A handgun ban would only affect the law abiding citizens and not the criminals! If a crook wanted a firearm bad enough they could be bought or obtained clandestinely or illegally.

Handguns used illegally should have extremely harsh penalties for their illicit use. The right to bear arms is guaranteed by the Constitution. Misuse that right and one should pay the penalties for doing such.

It's scary enough out there. Why would we want to ensure only the criminals have guns? Just look at Chicago.

Self defense is a human right.
The police are great, but they can't be everywhere.
