Gun Control Debate - Hammond, LA

We have the right to bear arms. I feel that we should have the rights to own any guns including those with full-auto capabilities and suppressors/silencers as long as the person has a clean criminal record and can give a good reason to why he/she would own such a weapon. The collectors are the ones that have to suffer for the criminals irresponsibility and I believe it is not fair.

It's called the Bill of Rights, not the Bill of Needs.
Rights and liberties should never require permission form the government to be exercised.

True, but the government would never us to own full-auto weapons without their consent(even though many people already do). Can't just jump into anarchy. Not the way this country is.

Depends on who is starting the anarchy. People shouldn't need to register any of their weapons with the government. The 2nd Amendment says as much.

Yeah they shouldn't. We have eleven guns and the only one that we have any paper work on is our old Russian battle rifle and that's considered curio and relic. They have restricted us enough with their gun registrations. It's bogus.

I belive I have the right to defend my home and family. I do not belive if we "the honest people" gave up our guns. The crimnals would as well.
